It's more of a link than a discussion, but there's a really good article on nutrition in the New York Times by Michael Pollan. I'm waiting for The Omnivore's Dilemma to come out in paperback; anybody read it? Link to the article here.

I'd ask for thread starting permission, but historically I'm not much of a thread starter, so I guess if I have anything I'll just bring it up when the time comes.

I'm reading TOD and it's very good so far. He also wrote a series of articles for the NY Times magazine over the last 5 or so years that are somewhat contained in TOD. The best, I thought, was called "Power Steer" and about him buying a single cow and following it through its early life.

Spicy,

"Question; are some topics banned in here?"

Anything interesting is fair game. The only thing I'll ask is for people to try to not be too repetitive and to avoid quick advice questions and other lighter threads that do better in OOT.

El D,

What do you think about the term "El Dgenerates" for the denizens of this forum?

If you're interested in Politics, you should probably add me. I'm probably the most sane of the Politics regulars who also posts in OOT.

a specific suggestion i had in mind for a thread were meals that one could specifically bring to and eat at work. I've started buying a lot of amy's products lately, and while i had previously thought microwaved lunches should be avoided at all costs, a few things have made me change my stance. the main culprit being:
which is absolutely delicious. also, im the resident headphone expert obv.

i likely wont start a ton of threads, but ive done a lot of travelling and would like to do more so would like to have the opportunity to talk about that. if you give me thread making capability ill even use capital letters and apostrophes.

not a suggestion, but i was mildly surprised to stumble on this forum and not see a "win a day with el diablo" or some form of apprentice styled competition thread.
