Of course, I'd still say Manning/Brady are 1-2 for QB talent in the league, and nobody else is challenging, yet.

[/ QUOTE ]

since these guys arose, other guys have challenged them, but injuries or other things have slowed them down. 2 examples being McNabb and Palmer.

[/ QUOTE ]

Palmer was better than Brady this year.

[/ QUOTE ]

Brady certainly was not great this year. I think playing with a whole new set of WR's hurt him, and I also think it's possible he was playing hurt.

Either way, yeah, he wasn't spectacular

There hasn't been one season where Brady has been the second best QB in the NFL.

[/ QUOTE ]

Has anybody been as consistently good over the past 5 seasons as those 2?

[/ QUOTE ]

This only works because you've arbitrarily selected the years in which Manning and Brady have peaked. Palmer hasn't been around long enough, Trent green finally declined this year, etc.

Brady had two great seasons - 04 and 05.

Also if McNabb stayed healthy his 2001-present would have been better. Of course he didn't so it's a moot point.

Anyone that thinks Peyton becomes an all time great QB regardless of what team he is drafted by/plays for his smoking some seriously strong weed.

[/ QUOTE ]
Not every team but there aren't very many teams were he wouldn't be an all time great.

Some QB ratings for a career (which I think is the best way to evaluate a QB's success)and some other notables

1.Steve Young 96.8
2.Joe Montana 92.3
3.Dan Marino 86.4
4.Brett Favre 85
5.Troy Aikman 81.6
6.Warren Moon 80.9
7.Jon Elway 79.9

Current
Peyton Manning 94.4
Tom Brady 88.4

You obvioulsy have to factor in some things like how good a guys offense was (like Elway's first 7-8 years his teams were not that good he pretty much took them to the SB's by himself)I also think we forget how good Young really was maybe because he sat for a few years.

Montana= Rice, Taylor, Craig, Clarke.
Aikman= Irvin, Harper, Novacek, Emmit
Young= Rice, Watters, Brent Jones, William Floyd,
Manning= Harrison, Edge, Wayne, Dallas Clark
Brady= Reche Caldwell, David Patten, David Givens, Antawn Smith
Marino= Duper, Clayton,
and Elway later years= Rod Smith, Mcaffrey, Terrell Davis,

The fact that you say Brady is "Useless" without the rings is such a joke considering what he has had to work with so far in his career.

looks like the defense and special teams helped with Brady's rings a TON

every quarterback's production falls off in the playoffs, Brady isn't some golden god

I picked the last 5 years because that's the 5 years Brady has been a starter.

I don't think Manning's o-line is all that great.
