Chinese guy is Bill Chen, google him for info.
Use VLC to play movies. Jamie Gold's VPIP looks like it's in the 25-50% - not a great idea when you're one of the worst players at the table. AJ and Gabe thought Matusow was playing well but his limp-reraise and pushing $100k on the flop with Ad Kd was just awful imo. If he "explodes" (which really just means he gets called) in that first hand then he doesn't go on that run of cards/plays. Victor Ramdin's turn bluff in a 4-way pot was awful as well. It's close between him and Gold as the worst player at the table. |

Thought tonights episode was a good start anyway, suppose they had to show the one with Gold in it as they knew it would attract both poker players and casual observers alike. Chen was a good character, Gold, though a dbag wasn't as much of one as I was expecting tonight, Sheiky got on my nerves as usual but the rest was good. |

Yet another mention from Doyle and Daniel N. about everyone "needing the money". What the hell happened?

I think Gabe said Matasows bet with AK was too risky.
What about Alaie holding 55, calling 9k before the flop and with 346 on the flop, not calling a 15k bet. There was already 27k "plus the 15k flop bet" in the pot. Even if Chen has an overpair, Alaie is only a 3-2 dog. The money that was already in there justified some kind of play. Doesn't he have to at least call and take one off. As it turns out, Chen (who had AQ) was probably through with the pot, but results aside. |

[/ QUOTE ] Yeah IMO Alaei should have raised there and repped 33/44/66 which makes perfect sense. If Chan has an overpair, there is at least some fold equity (depending on which overpair he has). Chen has to know that with an overpair there he is not far ahead of any of Alaei's range and will be quite often crushed. Alaei will still be 35-40% to win when he walks into an overpair, and there is already quite a bit of dead money, plus some fold equity, and there are plenty of times Chen has a big ace that missed. Maybe Alaei just didn't want to make a high variance play like that for $100k. That's all I can think of honestly. |

Everything you say is true, but why not just call the 15k? There's already at least 42k in there. Why just give it up?

What were Doyle and Daniel talking about rating players. Doyle said he had people in groups and not a number one overall. Was this a poll? PPL? Anything on this?

[ QUOTE ] Yeah is there anywhere online to watch this yet? [/ QUOTE ] (place that can't be mentioned) weird episode. jamie gold was playing like a total fish. limping aq on the button was especially bad. when doyle had the set of 5's, was he just slow playing hoping he would make a house on the river and someone else would make a flush or straight? that seems to be the only explanation i can think of. william chen is a big geek. i hope he isnt in many episodes. matasows playing pretty good so far, but what was with the open push there with AK. didnt he watch todd brunson do that last year and go broke? lucky aleai didnt catch the flop. [/ QUOTE ] I think he was a little scared somebody had a made str already and didnt want to build a big pot in which a set would be very difficult to get away from if that was the case. |
