Ok so i said basically that if DN (or anyone for that matter) makes a comment towards another person that it should be up to that person to say if its offensive or not. And it should be up to that person to stand up for himself and tell DN that these comments offend him and he should stop saying them. It shouldnt be up to someone else to say "thats racist" , "im going to defend this poor asian - american man whos being attacked by this scary white man b/c there is no way this Bill Chen can defend himself". Like this person does not have the ability to understand when someone is offending him or not. If its ok with Mr. Chen then its ok with me.

This is the internet.. people hate for the dumbest reasons, and it usually only takes 1 reason. But I can understand not wanting to subject yourself to it.

I'm enjoying all the new poker shows that include more of the table talk and personality of the pros rather than just the pushing of chips around. So you see more 'behind the scenes' sorta, but there's still a lot that goes on behind the camera.

So I think a lot of the 'disrespect' and 'outrage' is really misplaced because you're seeing a tiny window of time. I'm sure sound-bites of me, or anyone, could outrage quite a lot of people, when that's the last thing from my mind.

this is a good point actually.
I think it's very possible that Daniel has not caught up with the 2+2 way to get the heck out of threaded mode. Which would explain why he hates trying to navigate around here so much.
Also needs to set the total posts per page in flat-mode to 100, and total threads shown to 100.

I think your post highlights a number of facts.

You allude that playing 'mathematically correct' may not be AS PROFITABLE as exploiting someone elses weaknesses. I assume that you are excellent in summing up players plays, their strengths and weaknesses, and then attacking them. I think that perhaps you KNOW how to exploit the maths players, more easily than they can exploit you. I think most posters here just assume you are a maths basher, anti all in preflop small baller.

When viewing, just use the FLAT way, the default threaded is moronic, and whoever set it up that way should be hung, drawn and quartered.

I am sure that for every idiot who posts something negative about your hairstyle/love of small ball/ability to have fun with friends, there are a stack more poker players that would love to hear your opinion about poker.

Most of the haters hate everyone. As previously mentioned in this thread, you will be far less likely to see hateful replies in the strategy forums. I hope you'll do some strategy posting at 2+2 in the future. I'm sure a vast majoriy of us would greatly appreciate reading some of your insight.

By the way, I agree with you that political correctness is offensive. I saw your drunken Gavin Smith impression at the Bellagio during the final table of the Five Diamond (the night before the TV table). That was hilarious. So was the mock-scolding of the young white guys who left their mess on the floor near the rail. I'm pretty sure these things had nothing to do with race.

Daniel just likes to have fun with people. And he's one of the best poker players in the world.
