Default Re: The most famous person you met (and story )?

I went bar hopping with Mark Cuban. Sort of a right place at the right time kind of thing. I was sitting at a bar on a Sunday night with my boy. We just got food and were finishing up our beers when he comes in. There's really no one at this bar, but my buddy and I recognize him when he comes in. He sits a chair away from me at the bar, we say a couple things, but he doesn't seem to be in the mood to talk so I let him go (I later found out he was in Pittsburgh to donate money in some cancer patients name and she wasn't doing so well when he was there, which I think explains him not being in such a good mood). My friend and I go back to talking, Cuban eventually starts getting into our conversation and is soon telling us all kinds of stories. Soon after, my other friend, who was late because he had a chick at his place, arrives and is happy he did.

Cuban says he wants to go get drunk so we tell him we know some places. He tells us to call a cab and we go out hopping around to different bars. We eventually settle at this club and the a owner of a strip club who was there recognizes Mark so he sends his girls over and told us he'd pick up the tab (why can't average guys who need the tab to get picked up get it, but a billionaire who doesn't need it gets it?).

Anyways, he pawns the girls off on us telling them that we're millionaires and his billionaires in training, strippers are so stupid. We procede to get drunk at the club, then some random chick drives us home. On the way home, I tell her that the only reason she's driving us home is because she smells money. She denied it, but why else would some random girl drive home 4 drunk dudes from a bar?

Two best parts of the night :

1)This club had hiphop night on Sunday nights, so there were a lot of people wearing basketball jerseys. When someone would pass Cuban wearing something other than a Mavs jersey, he'd start yelling at them. These dudes would turn around pissed, ready to fight, see Cuban was the one heckling them and be in complete shock. Apparently not too many people knew he was there.

2)When we first got to this club, before he pawned the strippers off on us, the girls bought themselves and him a shot. They grab their shot and give Cuban his. They're ready to drink when Cuban goes "Where's Iggy's shot?" They say they didn't buy me one, to which Mark slams the shot down on the bar and says "If Iggy isn't drinking, then I'm not drinking!" He grabs me and says lets go get a shot.

Here's a couple pics from that night :

(it says "To my Pitt billionaires in training, F&#$ [blurred for the filter] Yeah!, Mark Cuban)

All,

I flew on a plane from Houston to Atlanta sitting next to Hank Aaron. He slept most of the way.

I played blackjack with Pete Rose for a couple hours. He was a dick.

I played blackjack with Tito Ortiz. He was very cool.

Juliette Lewis, Chris Barron, Duncan Sheik.

i helped record some demos for Juliette while she was on the 2004 Warped Tour.

i was part of the team recording the Spin Doctors show @ Summer NAMM 2004.

Duncan produced my friend's record and hosted the after-party following the cd release show.

In or around 1990, my then wife and I were attending the annual American Psychological Association convention, and we stumbled upon a large auditorium address being given by the late Reubin Fine, who in addition to being a well-noted psychoanalyst, was also a chess grandmaster who was considered during the 1940s to be one of the top five players in the world. He also wrote the classic book Basic Chess Endgames.

Anyway, after he finished his speech, I went up to the podium, shook his hand, chatted with him for a couple of moments (I think he was surprised to be approached by a chess fan at an APA convention), and got him to sign my program.

How could I have forgotten these 2:

1) Aidan Quinn - for some reason he was sitting coach on the way to San Francisco.

2) Amy Fisher - she went to my high school - was 1 year younger. My best friend's twin sister was friends with her - so there were several times we would both at their house hanging out....nothing ever more than a small-talk, "Hey, how ya doing?". This was before she really got too involved with Joey Buttafuoco. In fact, my friend's sister sort of backed away from the friendship when that started 'cause she thought it was messed up.

yogi berra

i saw him in at newark airport, and i wasn't sure if he had died yet, so i call my dad whos waiting in the car and am like "is yogi berra dead or alive? cause i think i see him." he was pretty sure he was still alive.
then i call my cousin and ask him, and he confirms he's still alive.
eventually i get the balls to walk up to him, but i say "did anyone ever tell you you look like yogi berra?"
he nods yes and the other old guy hes with just sits there smiling.
so then i say "are you yogi berra" and he just says yes.
i still feel like a tool, but i get an autograph on a little piece of paper and shake his hand.
i don't know where that piece of paper is now [img]/images/graemlins/frown.gif[/img]

Bill Cosby - he was on a promotional tour for his show about ten years ago. Spent about an hour with him and he is a true gem. As genuine, and genuinely funny, as they come.

Ben Wright - We played a casual round of golf at his club, then had dinner in his home. He prepared steaks on the grill. After two bottles of red wine the conversation became very interesting and fun. Inside stories, very candid and hilarious look inside the golf and tv golf world. It is really too bad his career was cut short.

Tony Larussa likes to read at the end of the bar of one of my clients places, and I had drinks w/ him one time when I got done fixing the system that went down. I had dinner with Orlando Pace and Brett Hull at a charity event when I was younger, I have met Tony twist from the blues a bunch of times, Ive smoked with Nelly and part of his crew. Ive ment all the players of most of the sports teams in st louis because i have a family member that does a lot of behind the scenes stuff for espn and fox, he takes me with him on jobs if I want to go (locker room stuff etc). Oh ya, I used to [censored] with Larry Hughes computer in HS, make sounds come out of it and get him in trouble, then we would go to the gym and shoot around, although I just shagged balls and [censored] becasue I suck vv bad at bball

PS. My most favorite famous people that Ive met:

my uncles neighbor somehow knew the hanson brothers (from the movie slapshot), and when I was 13 or 14 I met them, got pictures with them etc.
