I think your turn bet size combined with the way we were playing made it pretty transparent you had at least AK. Since you are in fact not much stronger than AK, and it would be unwise for me to try to bluff someone off of the nuts (AK), I think you should check/fold the river.

I completely missed this post, interesting. Maybe c/f is the best line but out of curiousity, do you ever play AK this way?

I'm guessing this would be a standard 3-bet pf for you most of the time, which makes me lean towards c/f even more. I wasn't familiar enough with you to make decent estimations on how often you hold AK/KQ/KJ here, but I factored them into your range anyway.

cts is not stupid and probably checks behind a decent % of the time with these hands.

Push is totally retarded here with your image.

MDMA, this is why I think a push is good:

I think a push is good because the flush card hit. In my experience, people shoving on scare cards set off immediate alarm bells. That is, as soon as someone who I THOUGHT was a nit/tight went bet-bet-bet even when the ONLY apparent draw on the flop hit, I immediately think something is fishy.

Basically, I'm telling you that this is 400 NL. My reads here don't apply to higher necessarily (though in some cases). However, if the read on OP was fairly tight fairly aggressive nothing out of the ordinary standard tag (which is my read on at least half the regs at Stars 400), then he might think that OP would go into check call mode on that river (as many are indicating that he do). Because of that, and because though there is an illusion cts does not figure to have just a naked flush draw, in the heat of battle the aggressor will seem to always go into check call mode with a made hand like AK+.

Since cts surely has people playing back at him (when I play ultra loose or ultra aggro I get guys playing back at me a ton, though I'm a huge calling station) since he dabble in so many pots, though you all say the "read is tight, blah blah blah" people DO go crazy. Nits and tags alike "fight back" by firing three barrels against "table captain" types. With this river card, cts may figure that he's highly unlikely to fire two barrels with a flush draw, and highly unlikely to go bet bet bet with just one pair (a KXd, assumedly, that he would otherwise check behind) he can assume that he's got KKK or air.

Maybe that is very insightful analysis, but I was trying to reason why cts can call light and therefore AA should be shoving river for value, from the perspective of someone who has likely had a similar image as him. Or maybe you guys think I'm a complete dunce, whatever.

Discuss.

I check river cuz I dont have a flush. Then I call all bets cause I got AA. Poker, its not so hard.

You do realize that the definition of a nit is that he does NOT use his image to make bluffs right, i.e he DOES NOT BLUFF.
