I jumped the gun and blew my wad all in one shot. I don't have any faith in partypoker whatsover as to what they are going to do.

Anyone from Canada ordered anything lately? What's the delivery time like?

I "cashed" out my +/- 12500 remaining points for a few DVDs and, God help me, a few stress dice. I only opened the thread to report back on a Party store issue from 10 weeks or so ago.

A few months back I decided to use a bunch of Party Points to buy a Weber Gas Grill. It actually looked OK -- 125K points and a propane grill that was decent - not scraping the bottom nor anywhere close to the top. But, since it was Party, I was concerned about what I would eventually receive -- my concerns were compounded by the fact that the part# listed in the Party store generated a fair number of "out of stock and not coming back in stock" sorts of search results.

Eight and a half weeks pass with no updates whatsoever other than the original order confirmation. My wife asks: "whatever happened to that BBQ?" I respond: "HM. Not sure. I'll email." I send an email that is very polite and conveys more or less "it's been more than 8 weeks, just checking." I get a response akin to "I'll check." Ten to twelve days go by, and I am reminded by something at work that I have no response from Party -- I begin drafting an email when I instead get an email from my wife at home that reads: "BBQ arrived - the box is really big." Before I can even get home from work that evening, I have one response from Party: "Your order apppears to have been shipped, and received on xx/xx/xx." Nothing more.

As it turns out, the BBQ was as ordered, a pretty nice entry-level gas grill (long since no longer available in the Party store). And I got a second follow-up email from Party about a week or so after my delivery saying, essentially, "it's on the way and you should expect delivery soon."

Recieved this reply from Party after asking about the store closing:

"We are refurbishing the Party Store. On January 16, 2007, we will be removing all of the merchandise that is currently in the Party Store.

You can, however, use the points in your account to purchase available merchandise up until January 16, 2007. Items that go out of stock will be removed from the store.

We urge you to use your points now if you would like to purchase any of this existing merchandise. On 16th January 2007 we will remove all existing items and introduce new items in the Party Store These items will include Cash for points and Tournament Buy-ins. In addition, we will look for new uses for your Party Points."

Did anyone think to ask if US players can use the "cash for points" option, when it becomes available?

I highly doubt the points for cash will be more valuable but I guess it might be worth a gamble a the points are not worth all that much now.
