Nice. Down 22-2 with two minutes left in the first quarter.

Why would adding AI really help this mess again?

it was nice to see no 4th quarter drama tonight after almost blowing a 30-pt. lead in NY the other day.

maybe Tony Allen isn't the worst offensive player ever anymore?

1st place baby. And the guy who I thought was the worst player on the team, Tony Allen is looking like the 2nd coming. He played 48 minutes!!!

I can't BELIEVE he played the whole game.

He looked good tonight. I still think he's one of the dumbest players ever. But tonight he looked like his rookie self, which is an improvement.

And my Al Jefferson boner is growing daily.

yup. sickest game by a Celtic in a long time:

48 minutes, 30 pts (11/13 FG, 2/2 3pt, 6/6 FT), 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 steals

4 wins a row, and without Gomes tonight, they did it with basically only 7 players. Good times right now.

Also, as hard as this is to believe, T Allen played pretty good defense on Carmelo most of the game. Melo hit some ridiculous shots with Allen in his face, shots that no one could stop him from getting off. And the best play of the night was when T Allen juked right past Carmelo and jammed after taking off from just inside the foul line.

T Allen is still a terrible shooter but he can drive and get to the hoop. When he hits a few 3's like he did tonight he is actually tough to defend.

Love Al Jeff though, he was the player of the game. When things got dicey and they needed a bucket they went inside to him and he was unstoppable. He made Camby look bad.

The thing I like seeing most about Al now is he's [censored] into it. He's thumping his chest after key scores. Big Al is the best.

Yeah, i can't even believe this is the same guy as a couple of years ago. Or even last year, really. He's got all the confidence in the world right now. He's always had great, soft hands, but has seemingly picked up some quickness (probably a result of the weight he dropped) and his basketball IQ (as it relates to being in position for rebounds and post up moves in the paint) is improving every game. [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Big Al.

his b-ball IQ has always been there. He came into the league with a great nose for the ball and more post moves than a lot of established big men in the league. His D and positioning still need some work, but he's getting there.

I read something in the Herald that the trade rumors involing him in AI deals has really motivated him. Apparently he loves Boston and the Celtics.. which rules.

Maybe he's always had the high IQ and the instincts, but now it seems as if he all of a sudden has the quickness to read and react to them too.

My dad, who was lucky enough to be at the game tonight, said he saw an interview with Big Al in which he basically said he'd do anything to stay and play in Boston. Basically coming out and begging them not to trade him. Like you said, this is a great thing.

They look great right now. But it comes and goes with this team. It seems as if every time they have a great run like this (and have us all feeling good about the team), they go out and put up 3 or 4 stinkers in a row. I mean, they were 1-7 before this winning streak, including an inexplicable loss at Charlotte and a 24-pt. beating at the hands of the Knicks. I'd love to see some consistency here.

I guess what I'm saying, as dumb as it may sound, is that I think this a very important game at Charlotte tommorrow night. It's imperative that they come out focused, play smart basketball, and not overlook the Bobcats. They've got a bunch of tough Western Conference road games coming up. And, being a young and right now very confident and talented team, this is a classic spot where it may be easy to take for granted a not-so-good opponent.
