[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] did the girl say how she learned japanese? didnt she say someone gave her a how to book? i could be totally wrong.. but if that is what she said maybe hiro gave it to her in the past when he tried to go back n save her? [/ QUOTE ] Great catch. I totally overlooked this. She told Hiro and Ando that she got a japanese phrasebook for "her birthday about 6 months ago and just started poking through it last week". Given that Hiro appeared in her b'day photo at the end of the episode, it's likely that he's the one who gave it to her. [/ QUOTE ] So she was pretending not to recognize him? I'm really wondering how they'll handle the parallel time lines. If Hiro is successful in saving the girl's life, everything will be different. Sort of like the different time lines in Back to the Future 2. |

It is quite likely the plot will end up with more holes than Swiss cheese.
Even if that cheese is wrapped around a delicious hotdog with bacon and egg.... |

Some people kill me. Between this and Lost, people obviously don't recognize the difference between sitcoms and "dramatic" series---23 minute complete storylines vs. long overarching plots that span seasons.
This is far from the greatest show ever, but at least it's entertaining. The development of the storyline is pretty uneven from episode to episode, and the acting is generally pretty bad (the woman cop/FBI agent may be the worst actor I've seen on a major network series), but it is addictive. I'm looking forward to next week. |

Doesn't it seem really odd that some other person just happened to give her a japanese handbook for her birthday of which hiro is in the photo of, and he doesnt look happy.
Hiro has been shown previously carrying a little japanese/english handbook. The whole changing time, events etc is probably gonna create massive holes...but its still fun to follow. Also how does Sylar know who are "evolved" and who are not? the waitress was sweet...would be nice if hiro was able to save her odds Hiro's buddy gets killed before seasons end? |

Things that suggest the waitress may have met Hiro 6 months ago:
- She got the Japanese book for her birthday 6 months ago. - When asked how she knows they're tourists, she abruptly says "just a guess" and changes the subject. - She knew how to say "You're sweet" in Japanese even though it isn't in the book. - She liked the way his cheeks wobble when he concentrates. When would she have seen him do that? So assuming Hiro doesn't save her life and we don't enter an alternate timeline, why doesn't he save her? Maybe, in those 6 months, he realizes that doing so would create some sort of time paradox (if she doesn't die, Hiro doesn't go back in time to save her). And why does she pretend not to recognize him? Does Hiro tell her about his power and instruct her to act as if they don't know each other? If so, does he tell her she is going to die? Even if all that is explained, why is Hiro not in the birthday picture until after he goes back in time? If all that happened 6 months ago, he would have been in the picture the whole time. |

I figured out Mohinder's power:
His power is the ability to be tedious. Here I come to save the day: I'M TEDIOUS MAN! Holy [censored] commercials batman. Seemed like every 2 minutes I was having to hit the fwd button. WTF? |

I can't wait for next week! I can totally see Peter defending the cheerleader from Sylar. He is going to have all of Sylar's powers plus the cheerleader's ability to heal. It will be an epic battle.
On the train when future Hiro came to talk to Peter he said, "You look different without your scar." I wonder if he gets the scar fighting Sylar? |

Why didn't Sylar kill Hiro in the diner too? Has Hiro yet to be identified as "special?"

Don't you guys think that when a battle happens with Skylar the 'heroes' are going to have to join forces in order to defeat him? I think this is where the story will go, sort of in an X-men direction.
