I'm amazed how young everyone is, considering how high the average age of a stud player must be in a B&M

Age: 32
Where: Grew up near Pittsburgh (go Stillers!), currently living in Cincinnati.
Family/Education: Got my MS in Chemistry (go figure) in '98 at Wright State Univ. where I met my wife, also a chemistry grad student. I'm currently employed in the pharmaceutical industry as a synthetic organic chemist for 6 years. We've been married 7 years and had our ceremony at the Ohio Renaissance Festival.

No kids, don't want any.

We have two greyhounds, who make wonderful pets. That's Kelli in the picture wearing Mardi Gras beads. People think greyhounds are hyper/aggressive and nothing could be further from the truth. They are lazy/low maintenance dogs which is exactly what we wanted in a pet. I highly recommend them and adopting a greyhound is doing a great thing in itself.

Music: I like pretty heavy stuff. Megadeth, White Zombie, Static-X, etc. I really got into German groups Rammstein and Megaherz a few years ago cause I loved the sound and singing along in German is fun . Rammstein's Der Meister = teh best song evar.

Greatest poker accomplishment: Qualifying (narrowly) for last year's WCOOP $530 Omaha/8 event via satellites.

How I got there: finished in the top 17/177 of a 90FPP satellite which got me to the super sat. There the top 9 of 332 qualified for the WCOOP event. How narrow was my win? 5 hours into the tourney we're on the bubble with 10 players left on two tables. A guy on the other table miraculously busts out when I have the big blind next hand. I had 3318 left in my stack and blinds were 6000/12000. I finished with only 1818 more chips than I started with! Average stack of the other four at my table was over 63000.
So what happened in the big tourney? The ending is rather anti-climactic. After much deliberation, I decided to sell my seat for $480 to lock up the sure thing. A good choice too as only 63/735 (8.5%) made the money (wtf?).

I am 34. October 30th is my Birthday.

I live in Massachusetts in the Boston Area. As a matter of fact, I live in an Octagon... seriously.

I am not married and the only women I am semi-involved with are psychotic so no girlfriends and no kids.

Occupation besides Poker? WHAT? Even if I was good enough, I would never have Poker as my primary occupation. All of the people I know who have made Poker thier occupation are one step away from Welfare. I own my own Business. I am also a Navy Veteran who has just signed on with a National Guard Light Infantry Battalion. That should be fun.

I have some college credits but since I was a moron as a youth I kept changing majors and don't have anything except for credits. I will finish that up soon enough, probably at Northeastern. My degree is going to be Economics.

Movies? I like Andy B's movies. I haven't seen It's a wonderful Life. I like the first Matrix. I ramble on enough and don't have time to go into it but most folks don't like the movies I watch.

Music? I liked Metallica before they sucked. Iron Maiden is good. Ozzy in the past. I know a lot of musicians and like a braod variety of music. Don't listen to much now.

Poker accomplishment? It was this last New Years day when I was playing 3/6 on Party and won 600$. Then I went to PokerStars and won a grand at 10/20. This was after a left a live game with a 100$ profit. Then my friends gave me some weird crap called Dr. McGullicudies (Something like that.) and I went insane and the 10/20 table tore me apart. Why is that my best? Well, I looked at the hands and I didn't play that bad. In fact, I played rather well but even with a grand I didn't have the bankroll to cover the stakes. So, it is my favorite because I got to play in far higher stakes then I am used to and I did OK.

I started playing 5 Card Draw when I was 8 years old. I have played Stud and Draw often until now. I don't like Hold 'em but I am learning to as the casino boats here don't play anything else and the largest Donk to good player ratio can be found at Hold 'em. Stud is the ONLY Poker game as far as I am concerned but it is a small community and some of these guys are just to good for me.

I have Advanced Scuba certification, and I dive often. I might even go diving in a week or so in the middle of Winter. I have studied Martial Arts for over a decade and have a few belts and medals to go along with that. Mainly Korean but a lot of Chinese stuff as well.

That's about it. If I have the time, I can post a few diving pics (I am a fair {Not good} underwater photographer.) that some of you may like.

I just had to say that Ender's Game is fantastic!

Did you know that it is required reading for the Marine Corps. at thier Officers "Basic School".

I have Enders Shadow but I have to finish Xenocide and Children of the Mind first.

Good picks man!

Enders shadow does not need to be read after those book. Enders shadow follows Bean's trip through the school, so as long as you've read Ender's Game it won't ruin anything. And it isn't predicated on anything in Xenocide of COTHM

Lol. Most of those fossils probably can't even open up Microsoft Word, let alone join an Internet forum.

greenage,

did you see why I got banned again? It was classic! One night I was getting wasted with a fellow 2+2ers and I started giving out *s to everyone like they do in OOT. It was funny at the time at least. That was my fourth account including my two Harold Wong accounts...maybe this one will last!

How old are you?
60

Birthday?
Yes, 60 years ago.

Where do you live?
I live south of the Cedar Park Metroplex in the People's Republic of Texas.

Are you married?
One wife, who deals poker. No kids.

Occupation besides poker?
When in Vegas I sub as a dancing bartender at Centrifuge.
Occasionally I'll work a promising corner with my sign: "Not Broke, Not Homeless, Need Money for Buy-in. (I'm a g00t player, really!)"

If studying (or if graduated), what and where?
That was a long time ago. Studied math and asian studies.

Favorite movie?
Too many to pick out just one. Depends on the mood. Of the old B&Ws, I like anything with Fred Astaire, and a lot of the noir stuff, esp Big Sleep and Maltese Falcon.
Of modern stuff I like the comedies that didn't quite make it. Repo Man; Tape Heads; Big Lebowski; Fight Club. The last two did develop some fans after their original release.

Any Kurosawa flick.

Music?
The usual stuff: Deck Chairs Overboard; New Leviathan Oriental Foxtrot Orchestra; Mrs. Ackroyd's Band; Pre-Let it Bleed Stones.

Best poker acomplishment? How long been playing?
Feel free to add any other information or pictures about yourself you want to share.

I've been playing since I was 10.

I once took $1300 out of a nickle-(and I mean$.05)ante, $.05-1.00 spread limit 5stud game in the 60's. I tell people that was my biggest win.

In the early 80's, I'm guessing 1983, I was lying in bed reading an article in Scientific American about how computer geeks were changing the face of mathematics by solving problems with something called monte carlo simulations. I bolted upright. Holy [censored]! I could use them to answer poker questions I had been asking all my playing life. A few days later I had my TI 99 cranking out triple-draw lowball hands.

What I love about poker is that there is always something to think about. A lot of those Holy [censored]! moments, where I say to myself, "That's how it works!"
