great movie. i'm curious about how many times i'll want to rewatch it.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've had the same all time favorite movie for 23 years, but from what I've heard so far about this one, I'm optimistic that it may be in contention.

[/ QUOTE ]
Just curious, what movie is that?

[/ QUOTE ]

The life and times of Tony Montana. Not sure why exactly, but I think it's the only movie that I've ever seen that totally entertains me, and even makes me laugh.

I'm sure most movie aficienados will scoff at that choice, but what the hey.

I can just picture Oliver Stone in his hotel room in Paris doing lines while writing the screenplay.

Yet I absolutely loathe "Natural Born Killers" and can take or leave "JFK"

just got back from the movie. i thought it was incredible. just an awesome movie. i have never seen the Infernal Affairs...can i find it at a movie store, or would i need to buy it?

[/ QUOTE ]

you can find it at any borders for $15, about the same price on amazon.com too. probably can find it at best buy now too.

[/ QUOTE ]

2 and 3 though aren't readily available to buy, I think you pretty much have to get them off of netflix

for those who are just interested in the relationship between infernal affairs and the departed, the oginal one is the only one you need to see, plus that #1 is waaay better than the other ones.

The thing I am shaky about is whether or not I like how the ending came...because they handled a certain character MUCH differently in the new one.

[/ QUOTE ]

I like the internal affairs ending a lot more.

[/ QUOTE ]

This ending was a necessity though based on how they handled the Damon character. The original ending just wouldn't have worked without the turn thing.

[/ QUOTE ]

***Some Spoilers***

I disagree. The very last scene is a lame typical american tie up all the loose ends / don't let the bad guy get away with it ending.

[/ QUOTE ]
if you never saw the original would you have that big of a problem with it?

I loved this movie. I went with a girl and her friends though, and they HATED it. I'm gonna have to see it again with people who will appreciately true quality.

I have a question though...wtf was in the envelope that leonardo gave to the girl? I feel stupid for not knowing

My only problem with the ending was that it seemed like there were a number of far smarter ways that leo could have handled things.
