I'm not totally against abortion, but this certainly sounds like a case where it would be just used simply as a convience and not a valid medical, emotional or MAJOR life altering reason.

Adoption seems the clear choice here for the pregnant girl and the soon to be baby. The "easy" way out seems very inappropriate here for the situation (abortion), but the "hard" way seems wrong too (have the kid and raise it).

Has the guy just abandoned her? Any idea what he wants to do? Is he taking any responsibility here?

What you are doing is being a stand up friend and that is what you should continue to do. Be there for her.

More info about the father-to-be would be helpful....

Thanks, I'm trying to do the best I can.

As far as the father-to-be goes, I don't really have that much information. I do know that he is 23, lives with his grandma, works at ABC Warehouse and doesn't go to school. He also doesn't have a car or a cell phone, so he uses her car and cell phone like they are communal property.

I don't know if he is a good guy or not, but I have nagging doubts that he is not going to be an attentive father. Like I said, if she does decide to keep the baby, she should be prepared for the possibility that she will be the only one raising it and paying for it's needs.

Putting the baby up for adoption is the clear winner here. Sometimes it's not about what's convenient, but what's right. She and her boyfriend made a mistake and it's their adult responsibility to deal with it. Killing the kid is a cop out and a sleazy way to deal with a mistake they made. Give someone who's looking for a child a chance to raise a child and give her baby a chance to live. An abortion is nothing but pure selfishness and poor character, to put it nicely.

dude, abortions are easy, especially after the first one. I don't know why you need to make it any more than "walk in, get'er done, walk out" because that's literally all there is. Trust me, I've been getting girls pregnant forever.

I was happy to discover on my latest trip to the abortion clinic that if you pay for 9 abortions, the 10th one is free. Sweet.

I would advise her to get an abortion - or at least gently push her in that direction because of her youth. That being said, the actual decision is up to her and the father and there's really not much you, OP, can do about it. I recommend giving her the advice, hoping that she'll listen, and then just backing off and letting things take their course.

if it was someone else i'd give you the benefit of the doubt and figure you were satirizing the racism of the other poster who got banned and deleted.

but since it's you i'll just ban you anyway since i want to see what name/avatar combo you'll come up with.
