I had never seen a James Bond movie, but my friends wanted to see one during the Roger Moore era, so I went with them.

I fell asleep very early on.

When I awoke near the halfway point, my three friends were also asleep.

I woke 'em up, and we got out of there.

Yeah, right. I claim BS. Anyone with 2 posts who claims this has no credibility. Someone *** him.

Why is this movie off limits to any criticism?

Maybe it is a cultural thing - but I see no univeral respect for this saccharine crap outside a very narrow age band of US blokes. It was a terrible acted and scripted middle-class-white-boy rebel movie. It wasn't even unique in that particular genre at the time. Luckily I didn't get the chance to walk out of the rest of them at all. I've tried to watch it since, but it only gets worse with age.

I have never walked out. The most walkouts I ever experienced was the Thin Red Line where at least one third of the crowd got up at some point and left. At the end I was very envious of them and wished I woulda went to.

I also have never walked out of a movie, and have never really contemplated it, but this is the ONE movie where I almost did, but ended up not.

I love action/war movies, but I just couldn't get into it. Maybe I'm just too shallow to "get it", but whatever.

The Crow

I'm sure a lot of you think this is a great film. It's not. Pure crap, with no redeeming value at all. The "hero" is a sadistic, vengeful thug who gets off on torturing his victims. Worst of all, the highly-touted action scenes are just plain boring. Bad, bad movie.

Good choice. I didn't see this movie in the theater, but it was a waste of a rental. The bullets don't hurt him...you know why? He's dead, see. Next time you shoot at him, I'll bet the bullets still won't hurt him, you know why? Because HE'S STILL [censored] DEAD!!!!! My god that was dumb.

Closest I ever came to walking out of a theater was The Avengers. It was a steaming turd of a movie...I only stayed because it seemed like my friend was enjoying it (though afterwards, he told me he had wanted to leave too).

To echo another poster's comment, there sure are a lot of good movies listed in this thread.

1. Absence of Malice. In it's defense I was nine years old at the time, my parents made me suffer through it until I could take no more. Luckily in one of the highlights of my life, I walked into the movie playing next door. Imagine the look on my face as I walked right into the middle of Time Bandits, I was utterly confused and mystified, and loved every second of it.

2. She-Devil. Horrible...Horrible, I saw it at the dollar theatre drunk and stoned, and still walked out, I'll never get those 45 minutes back.

3. The Proposition. Ok, this doesn't count, as I didn't walk out, but it was so dreadfully mindblowingly dull, I tried to nap it off. This movie got amazing reviews, touted by some as a possible nominee for best movie of the year. My two friends and I were the only ones in the theatre during the show, and at the same moment we all looked at eachother as if to ask, are you as bored as I am?

The End of the Affair - super boring, only vaguely remember what it was about, went with a chick, I think it was a movie for chicks. We probably left with about 15 minutes to go, but the end just went on and on and on, and we just couldn't give a [censored], it was so awful.
