That's pretty damn low for having decent RB's and Moss. Elaborate on your thoughts?

Clark, you should start another thread for only $$$ leagues. These Yahoo leagues are so easy to stack, it's kind of pointless to even rate them.

If I may step in here and say why it's a low grade.

First off, it's a 10 team league. In a 12 team league, he'd get a C+, I think.

Moss is hugely overrated this year. Check out his turf/grass splits, then get back to me. Now, check out the fact that he has FIFTEEN grass games this year. He's got better receivers next to him than he has had in the last few years. He has a worse QB than in past years. He has a head coach who loves giving a RB 320 carries/year, which Tice never did.

He's overrated.

Now, he has two QBs that are about 10th best among fantasy QBs. This means he has the worst QBs. I know, it's tough to see "Tom Brady" and think "Worst", but it's true here.

His RB's are only a touch below average. Portis is probably top 10, and JJones is probably top 20 (I'm assuming no points per reception, or else his RBs are BAD). If Portis doesn't rebound from last year (and i don't think he will), then he's way below average at RB.

TE is a touch below average. I know, it seems insane "What, Jason Witten below average????", but remember, it's a 10 team league. TGonzo, Gates are better, and the next group (Witten, Alge, Dallas Clark, Heap, Shockey, McMichael, LJ Smith) are all about the same. This mean he has about the 5.5th best TE.

Good kicker and D, but those matter little (I'm not familiar with Yahoo scoring, but generally, the top 5 - 10 of these position all score close to the same...like within 1-2 pts. per game.

Horrible QBs and avg or worse everywhere else.

I'd give it a C-. I don't think a D is a bad grade.

Josh

I might give him an F just for waiting until the 10th pick to select a player when he had the 9th pick.

I've been reading this a lot the past few weeks. I think it has some bearing. Just not with a team that will spend the whole second half throwing because they are down by 20. Even if he is just a tall reciever on grass he will make plenty of plays because he will have the ball thrown his way so often.

Tom Brady
Byron Leftwich

I'm guessing these are 9th and 13th round picks so I don't see them as that bad.

What?? He has three top 16 running backs plus TJ Duckett who if he stays healthy and Dunn gets hurt he will be a monster back. Cedric Benson could be big by week 8 or 9 if he ever decides he is not Phillip Rivers.

TE is a touch below average.

I've seen Witten ranked #3 on many draft boards. I don't like him that much, however I think that if you are not taking Gonzo or Gates in the third or fourth round then Witten is a good pick.

I'd give it a B- with deep set of running back that can be used to lure trades for a better QB. Looks like he drafted 8-10 and I think I would be very happy with this team if I drafted there.

Very inciteful thread.

Clark, would you be able to make a list of your top 5's by position or maybe a top 10 or 20 overall list or soemthing? (I know league scoring can vary but just do your best guesses)

# of teams? KJ in the first is a reach. Assuming 12 teams, C+

[/ QUOTE ]

It's a 12-team league, and I had the 11th pick overall, so most of the top RB's were gone. KJ was the best left on my board. McNabb ended up lasting until the bottom of the 3rd round -- I was surprised to get him with the 35th pick overall.

This is my first draft. Standard Yahoo crap.

QB-M.Hasselbeck
RB-C.Portis
RB-D.McAllister
RB-R.Johnson
RB-C.Benson
WR-A.Johnson
WR-J.Porter
WR-A.Lelie
WR-P.Burress
WR-Re.Williams
WR-B.Edwards
TE-J.Witten
TE-D.Jolley
K-J.Hall
DEF-NYJ

Should I try to get a good #1 WR for one of my RB's?

You aren't allowed to post in this thread anymore. Jones, Portis, Jordan, Duckett, Benson, BELOW AVERAGE AT RB? ARE YOU INSANE?
