I think the worst case scenario here is going to be selling it for double instead of triple the price.

I'm wondering what would be the best time to make the most money though. Throw it on ebay right after you get it, or wait until 2-3 weeks before Christmas.

My buddy who stood in line with me, sold his 360 right before xmas for I think $800. Right after they got launched they were going for $1k-900. I thought waiting till closer to xmas would've brought him more money but it didn't. I think the reason was ppl were waiting for other shipments that were promised by Microsoft.

Any idea what time Gamesops/EBs open? I'm calling all the numbers in my area, but apparently none of them have voicemail.

I believe 9am. Maybe 10am. Maybe 8am. But what's the point of opening at 8am when no gamer wakes up before 12pm...

Yeah, that's what I was thinking. (It's 10:03am right now, but the locations I'm calling are still not open).

If you think that's the worst case scenario you've never sold on ebay. Buyer pays with paypal and files a claim after the fact (for various reasons) and you get billed back and lose everything. It's just not that simple, video game systems have a very high degree of fraudulent bidders.
You need to really determine the right plan for the auction on the front end or else you'll get screwed......

Trip report:
I called EBGames at 1015. The manager said he still has a few systems, but expects to be sold out within the hour. I haul ass to the store.

I get to the store at 1030 and there is no line. I thought it was too late, but I got there in time afterall. I placed my preorder and I'm ready to go. As my order is being filled, the phone rings off the hook constantly with everyone asking about PS3. The manager says that they got the memmo about opening preorders yesterday night and there were 9 people already waiting before the store opened.

I thought about stopping by at 2 malls to see if I can score some more, but I think it's a lost cause. If the out of the way location sells out by 1030, the mall EB Games preorders will be sold out for sure.

Big kudos to crestedbutte for letting us here at 2+2 know about this!
