If you are going to get any substantial amount of money out of an account, you will trigger reporting requirements, which will then raise the question of why you weren't reporting the income as it was generated. and don't think about trying to evade by taking out less than 10K at a time. that is defined as structuring by the U.S. Code and is a felony that carries a mandatory minimum and a stiff civil penalty.

All,

If you think a publicly trading corporation on the London Stock Exchange is not going to cooperate w/ IRS info requests and subpoenas when the time comes, you are kidding yourselves.

Oh, and they already have access to Neteller info.

[/ QUOTE ]

What exactly do you mean by "they already have access to Neteller info"? Are you saying that during an audit, they can get your neteller records? Or are you saying that Neteller reports to them?

I do pay my taxes. The intent of my question is not to try and work the system. However, if Neteller is "reporting" to the IRS, that is something worthwhile to know.

I would never be able to legally return to the USA.

I assume you got a good CPA to do your taxes? Because it sounds like you shouldn't be paying any taxes on the first 85K and probably a lot less than you might think on the rest, if you are doing them yourself.

33% was an exagertion. It is more like 30% after the Foriegn Earned Income Credit.

The money you save on the first $80K exemption isnt as much as it seems because you end up losing the 1/2 SE deduction.

I have a good gambling CPA.

If you are a born a US Citizen, the only way to avoid taxation is to renounce your citizenship or die. If you do the former, you can never return to the USA.

You guys should come live in Australia, tax free!

Oh, and fish2p2, if you're earning outside the US, the US doesn't tax you until you earn 80k+.
