On a little more serious note, for those asking about our rakeback, here is our new FAQ section: http://www.worldpokerexchange.com/contact.asp?ID=2 How is Rakeback Calculated? The amount of rake players receive back on a weekly basis is determined by the participation in real money games (hands), the amount of rake taken during each hand, and the amount paid in tournament fees. On a per hand basis, everyone that is dealt in receives a portion of the rake collected for that hand. Players “Sitting Out” or “Waiting for Big Blind” do not take part in the rake distribution. [/ QUOTE ] Please please keep it this way! This is by far the best way to give the rake back. |

im sorry I don't remember the web site. But there is one that allows u to change the table look. I changed to one called "down to business" and also changed to bigger hole cards. I then use a couple of "tilt blocker" windows to block the hole cards that appear at the bottom of the window.
This set up makes the interface really good. And let's face it, makeing $1200 a week at 3/6 by just breaking even at the tables is sweet! |

It's the best way to get rake back if you're a nit and take pride in your 8% vpip.

I...something like, "This week we are paying you an extra $340." or something like, "Could you use an extra $300 this week?" and then explain that this is the amount that you will GET PAID at the end of the week if you play regularly at WPEX. There's a big difference in mentality between, "We don't take any of those $1 or $2 rakes out. Lookie at us. We have no rake" vs. "At the end of the week, WE WILL PAY YOU $350 if you play regularly on 1 table at WPEX." [/ QUOTE ] You could also say that there's NO LIMIT to how much you make! "The more you play, the more we pay!" Um, can I copyright that? |

Someone just sitting and never playing a hand could actually collect as much rake as some gunner blasting a bunch of hands and winning a bunch. EDIT: Is it possible someone could sit, NEVER play a hand and still show a profit??? Rake in a conventional cardroom comes out of the winners pocket. Hence, any rake paid to the players should be repaid to the players who paid it in the first place. Maybe this is why WSEX is full of tighta$$es, you suppose? I may have to rethink this, but I believe this formula encourages tightness at the table. Tony |

Tony -- The rakeback at 2/4 limit is about 3-4 BB/100, so if you sat out 100 hands, not defending your binds with ANYTHING (not even AA or KK), you'd pay .75 BB per ten hands, or 7.5 BB/100. So limit, you'd lose. Personally, I don't know what the rakeback at a 50 dollar ring NL game would be per 100...probably 6-7 PTBB? So at NL, you might be able to nearly break even not playing a hand. If you play short-stacked and move in with solid starting hands and fold everything else, you'd probably be a very significant winner.
I know how much you love shortstacks, so I'm sure this strategy would be appealing to you. |

If you really are taking out full page ads in cardplayer, explain to people how much rake rapes you in the butt. Explain that while taking $3 out of a pot when you win $50 doesn't seem like a big deal, 3*10% (win rate)*60 (hpr) *25 hours *52 = $23,400 that would otherwise be in the pocket of the player. Or demonstrate it on an hourly basis... if you're good enough to beat a $2-$4 game for $15/hr, but pay $18 in rake, you're actually losing when you should be a substantial winner. "Rake free!" isn't as effective unless your target audience has the implications of this explained to them. [/ QUOTE ] fish don't like math |

WSEX is not more popular because the average online poker player does not realize that long term, paying rake at low limit poker is more or less a scam.
Thats why studies have showed that 95% dont win after paying rake.. and my guess would be the few that are winning focus on mulit tourneys.. which is all i use to play my last few years of playing at stars.. to help cope with the high rake structure.. So far at wsex have saved almost 5 grand and only up 3 grand appox .. |
