I just don't see how you can slow down at any point.

I agree that you could go broke in this hand, but you need to consider how deep these two are.

Day V - Part II

After the tournament I circle the pool area 3 times looking for Bobbi. I'd like to share my excitement with someone considering there wasn't anyone all that thrilled w/ my victory at the table. The pool is over-crowded, this is good news / bad news. Good news is there are a lot of girls in bikinis / bad news is there are a lot of girls in bikinis. Of course this could all be avoided if my cell phone didn't suck. I head back to the room.

Upon opening the door to our room I find my wife sitting on the bed watching Springer or something. "I was just getting ready to go to the gym" - mmm hmmm. I share the good news and she's elated for me and her, considering ALL of my poker winnings are going towards drinks, food and souvenirs. Actually, living like a small balla for a week is fun and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Well Bobbi heads for the gym and I have the afternoon free.
I'm kind of pokered out but you know that feeling you have after you've played 4 sets of SnGs and you're tired but it's raining outside, no one is home and you finally have the time for the uninterupted poker play free for all?!? I just can't pass this up.

Poker - Flamingo 1/2 NL

I buy in for $300 and sit in seat 1. There are a few guys in the poker room I've befriended during the week and they heard that I won the tournament. This is a cool feeling.

I'm cold-decked for 2 hours. I make the second nuts in an unraised pot w/ the board showing 29J Q A, no flush possibilities but of course someone has the nuts. Not soon after I make top set but can't shake a flush drawer who catches up on the river. I don't have any doubts about my play (up 'til this point) yet I find myself down $150 and a bit frustrated from this session.

I get A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] K [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] on the button and a young kid in seat 7 raises it to $15, I'm the lone caller. Flop J [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] 7 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] J [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] and Villain leads for $25.

This is par for the course for him. He c-bets EVERY SINGLE pot he raises pre-flop.

I was looking to put this kid to the test one of these hands, hopefully it was when I had a hand but I'm a bit antsy and frustrated and I raise it to $75 looking to take it down right now but he moves me all in. I give a disappionted look and say "pocket Queens?" and make the call. He tables Qs and stands up and starts rooting for cards. The turn is a x [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] and then he starts chanting "no spade, no king, no ace, no spade, no king, no ace" - well it worked and I'm sent packing. I hardly ever overplay AK in cash games. I think a little bit of tilt creeped in and I'm done w/ poker for the day.

- $300

Dinner at the Palms

Take the Barbaray Coast Express to the Gold Coast and walk to the Palms ($4). We have dinner reservations at Little Buddha at 7 PM. We order tuna rolls, George's lobster rolls (lobster, crab, avocado) fantastic , hawaiian pork potstickers fantastic, and a chicken entree! All of the asian food we had was amazing, my only wish was that we ordered something a little more apropos than the chicken dish. Add two drinks (bill total $60) We purchased a $25 Little Buddha gift certificate on-line for $5 ($35 / $15)

Ghost Bar - Palms

After that delicious meal we pay a cover and take the elevator up to Ghost Bar ($20). Exiting the elevator is worth the price of admission, the view is breath-taking. It's early (8:15 PM) and we're the only ones in the inside bar area. We order drinks, I ask the girl bartender if she'll make me something special. She throws a bunch of different vodkas in a martini glass and calls it the "panty dropper" ($20 / $5)

We head outside and there are three guys sitting at a table w/ microphones and a camera man. Come to find out the interview is for the WSOP and one of the guys is Fabrice Soulier.

We have a few more drinks (Coronas - $7 ea.) while watching some donks jump up and down on the glass floor. I head to the washroom complete w/ an attendant. Man, I really hate this. This is the one time on the trip that it takes everything in my power to give a tip "thanks for handing me this paper towel" ($1)

Tryst - Wynn

We take a cab to one of the clubs at the Wynn Hotel. We get there a little before 10 PM and wait inside the velvet ropes, we're first in line because Tryst doesn't open until 10.

There are at least 10 guys (employees) dressed in very nice suits w/ $100 hair cuts waiting for the club to open. One of them points out "you're the first ones in, have fun" and opens the rope. We get to the reception desk, cover charge $40 guys / $30 girls (wow!) Fortunately we have VIP passes (purchased on E-Bay for $5) and avoid the cover.

Tryst has the awe factor of Ghost Bar when you first walk in. There is a huge amazing waterfall in the background with the dance floor in the forefront. We order two red bull and vodkas, the girl bartender asks if this is ok and shows me a bottle of "Kettle One" - sure ($34 / $6) Now this is a bit steep, I've grown accustom to $12 drinks but $17?

The girl bartenders at Tryst are all pretty nice looking and wear very revealing tops. The clientele is the same! Two-thirds of the bar is set up for "table service" and the other third is the dance floor. By the time midnight arrives the place is jumping. We leave at 1 am and pass the line to get in which is half way down the corridor (at least an hour or two wait)

We walk back to the Flamingo (bad drunken move - too far). Although we get some entertainment from two thirty year old guys walking in front of us. One of them yells "PORN" every time he sees the asians passing out the smut on the sidewalk. He had literature the size of "War and Peace" in his hands and continued to scream "PORN" every single time he picked up a new brochure. It was funny, you had to be there.
