its [censored] poker. its played at a table. leaving before your opponent is finished making his decision is unfair. i mean i get that its within the rules -- i just think its stupid. [/ QUOTE ] Stupid, maybe. Unfair, no. It would be unfair if the rule stated something like, "Only the chip leader may leave the table." But if anyone can do it, it's not unfair. |

its a classless move to leave the table I got involved into a huge pot in a cash game recently, guy went all-in and left the table... I folded and gave him some choice words [/ QUOTE ] You guys are too much with this. 'Classless.' 'Unfair.' Give me a break. Do you equate class with your opponent presenting himself in a way to you that allows you to stare him down? Who cares if he leaves the table? I hope the guy in your cash game used three choice words as a retort -- 'get a clue.' |

While David was obvoiusly inexperienced the way he sometimes crazy overbet all in, like raising 60K to 8 Million or whatever, he did find good spots to do it in. He showed good poker instinct, even if he was too inexperienced too always act optimally.
One hand I was particularly impressed with, actually shocked by given his previous actions, is when the board was something like 79AA in head up. He raised the flop with the 7, then when Joe bet out again on the turn he laid it down. One thing I was confused about is why JVA would raise David's big blind with basically nothing, 92 off. Hadn't JVA been playing with this guy the day before and noticed his looseness? FWIW, my roomate had played some $500 multis in Bellagio with David, and absolutely could not believe that David had made the WPT Championship final table. He said David was incredibly loose and very talkative. But maybe he doesn't care about $500 after his big score. |

[ QUOTE ] did u hear men say f#@K when the guy showed pocket Q's [/ QUOTE ] I thought he said that, but after replaying it a couple of times I think he said "pocket queens," slurring the phrase a little bit into "pock queens." [/ QUOTE ] This is probably what it was, because if history is any judge we all know Men was at least half-tanked. |

I think the point was that Men was annoyed that his opponent asked "do you want action?" while sitting on QQ.
Is this some move to deceive the people behind him or was he just being a prick? |

Having just gotten around to watching this ep and reading this thread, some points that haven't been made yet:
- in the 24th minute, when Men's "pock" tens went up against QQ, VVP makes the aforementioned laundromat comment. However, he almost certainly said "Chinese laundromat" and it was edited out. I noticed it right away, give it a listen. - JVA's sunglasses were broken, and I think he actually did it right then, when he was trying to be civil during that ridiculous interview with Friel. I guess I'm a bad person but the JVA meltdown was entertaining. - Sexton needs to stop pimping the WPT so hard. This ep he actually said that the event winner would be an "instant legend". And the rest of the time he talks about "prestige" the WPT bestows on them, or how the "title means more than the money" to the players (uh...?). I know the show is geared towards a home game/casual player, but the kool-aid has got to start tasting tart even to them. - 55Daryl, I found your hand, all I thought he said was "that sucked" or something very similar. |

I felt so bad for James after he went out in 5th. I honestly thought he was going to kill himself.
