The entire Clinton scandal is easily the biggest of the past 10 years (excluding 9/11). And it's not even close.

Let's get real here, he was the second President ever to be impeached. It was front page news for months. Even if you included the one's you said not to include, only 9/11 was bigger.

Yes, I think it was bigger than the 2000 Election--because there was a finite time period for the election. The Clinton scandal took months and months to unfold. It was probably bigger than Katrina too. People have forgotten about New Orleans now. It'll be a footnote in history textbooks 100 years from now. Clinton's scandal will have a prominent part of history textbooks.

If importance is at all a factor, the following are disqualified for only involving 1 person or a few people who aren't politically powerful:

*Michael Jackson trial.
*Laci Peterson
*Janet Jackson super bowl thing
*Schiavo
*Jon Benet Ramsey
*Kobe Bryant

Meh.. I gave up on making a list because like everything you guys put is that. Seriously, what happens to Michael Jackson isn't an important piece of information--It's interesting and entertaining, but not important.

Wait - did El Ishamel get banned? Or is that like a tongue-n-cheek title?

I think the OJ Simpson trial sneaks in the 10 year window

Meh. 10 years was partially for convenience but partially to exclude the Oklahoma bombing/OJ trial.

I still say OJ. Even if it was 10+ years ago. Still....OJ, or the postgame OJ reaction 5 years later. I mean, has anything ever come close to this?

Dids - thanks for the info. Too bad - I mean I know he's definitely kind of trollish, but I thought he had his moments.
