[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] And are you referring to the same Joe Torre that just served a game suspension last week after he and Randy Johnson were ejected for hitting Eduardo Perez? [/ QUOTE ] He must be referring to a different Joe Torre since Randy Johnson didn't hit Eduardo Perez. [/ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] Randy Johnson was suspended five games by major league baseball and the suspension will be begin Friday barring an appeal, according to the AP. Johnson received the suspension for throwing at Cleveland's Eduardo Perez in retaliation for Jorge Posada getting hit on the elbow by a Jason Johnson offering on Wednesday. [/ QUOTE ] Throwing at...I apologize for the oversight. It's more classy if you miss. [/ QUOTE ] Hey Chicago buddy big big, Johnson retaliated because Jason Johnson had been hitting Yankee batters all night including Posada. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] No, I'm pretty sure it is. Ozzie is a son of a bitch. I used to give him the benefit of the doubt but after what he did to that kid last week he no longer gets it. What he is doing are not the actions of a professional. Maybe I'm just spoiled because I constantly hear and see the very mature and professional Joe Torre. [/ QUOTE ] What exactly did he do to "that kid"? And are you referring to the same Joe Torre that just served a game suspension last week after he and Randy Johnson were e [/ QUOTE ] I never said I have any problem with protecting your hitters. Where is that in my post? The Yankees are notorious for not protecting their hitters. I was glad to see Randy do that and I am going to assume he did it on his own (as per his reputation). Either way, Jason Johnson had been pegging guys or throwing real close inside all night long and Posada was constantly being hit by Indian pitching. Ozzie, however, will throw at you if you look at him the wrong way. Screaming at a kid in public in the dugout, CONSTANTLY publicly calling out your players, cursing your ass off everytime you get on camera, calling media guys "[censored]." I mean come on, give me a break. This guy is out of control. You are the only one who doesn't seem to think so. |

Ozzie, however, will throw at you if you look at him the wrong way. [/ QUOTE ] This isn't true. Sox players have been getting hit all year long, especially AJ. I've NEVER seen the White Sox initiate a beanball war during Ozzie's tenure. They've only done so in retaliation to protect their players. |

Johnson retaliated because Jason Johnson had been hitting Yankee batters all night including Posada. [/ QUOTE ] Isn't what this is about? My point is that retaliation is part of the game. Why is it ok when Joe Torre's team retaliates but when the White Sox do it Ozzie Guillen is a savage? By the way, the Indians hit only one batter in that game -- hardly qualifies as "hitting Yankee batters all night". |

Ozzie, however, will throw at you if you look at him the wrong way [/ QUOTE ] Ozzie has no such reputation. I watch virtually every Sox game and they never start this crap. In his tenure as manager Sox pitchers have hit 125 batters and Sox batters been hit 178 times. They want to stay out of trouble because they are in contention and have no need for suspensions. They play clean, hard, aggressive baseball. But when pushed once too often you just have to push back. |
