Good idea, split would be good. Would probably result in more valuable strategy discussion here, which would be great for everyone.

The sweat threads drive me insane, I can't believe they've been allowed to last this long.

I only read the sweat threads if I am also still in the tournament. I sometimes read official threads if I am in the tournament.

I cant speak for anyone else, but I would definitely visit this forum more if there werent sweat and other type of threads all over the place.

This by itself is reason enough to split the forum.

I've never posted - or posted in - a sweat thread. But I'm gradually losing interest in this forum because of them - there's just too much low/no-content material to trawl thru in a 25 minute lunch break or a 15 minute afternoon break or while the boss is out for coffee.

I've tried posting in an "official" thread a few times, but failed to see the point. There are interesting hands posted in the officials once in a while, but if they're that interesting they might as well have their own thread anyway.

So I'm all for a split.

What I'm not for is a hi/low buy-in split.

First of all because except for a very small group the same people will be posting in both threads. How many of the players in Star's $1,000,000 guaranteed won their entry in a low-limit satelite? How many of the players that enters the 50/90 SnGs also play the 20/180 on a regular basis?

Secondly, even if n00bs playing in the 4/180 SnGs or the $10 freeze-out post elementary questions, then I and a lot of other posters are happy to answer them - and frequently I can learn something about how the game develops and how many of my opponents think from the low buy-ins.

If a split like that was to make any sense it should probably be between online tournaments and $500-and-up live events. Probably even $1,000 and up ... in my recollection the daily $500 at Bellagio plays pretty much like a $50 online tourney. But honestly, I see no point in that split.

Best,

McMelchior (Johan)

Since there's overwhelming support in the Forum and all of the Moderators agree we're going to start implementing this right away. The FAQ has been modified to reflect this. If it doesn't work we can always change it back but I think this is a good move.

What happens to that forum once Jurollo goes on his mid-summer hiatus? You might want to add mods there.
