Clearing my first bonus on Casino.net.

I deposited $200 to clear the $100 bonus, and started off playing $.25/$.5. I read that the higher you played, the faster they cleared, so I started playing $2/$4 short with a $300 roll.

Ran decently hot, so started playing $5/$10 with a $500 roll. Ended up at around $1,000, and just before I cleared my bonus, I went on a $200 losing streak. Ended up at $900.

Man was I mad. I should've been up $1100!!!!! Stupid variance!

Then I lost it all trying to clear my very next bonus (absolute).

This is when I started to learn:

- Variance sucks.
- I sucked.
- Absolute sucks.

[ QUOTE ]
Tracking my hands at Pacific play money tables by writing down my cards, the board cards, slashes for every bet (big slashes for big bets), and checkmarks for when I won.

After careful analysis of 300 or so hands (I entered them into an Excel spreadsheet), I decided that I folded the winning hand too often and needed to fold less and that I shouldn't raise preflop because the hands I lost the most money on were the ones I raised preflop.

Two months later PokerTracker blew my mind...

Sweet jesus man. That's insane.

My 1st time playing online poker, when I just called every bet/raise as long as I still had a chance for a straight or flush. Won 10 bucks and thought it was the easiest game in the world.

yep I did. I can admit that I did wrong. Still doesn't help your forums, no matter how much you try to hurt my reputation.

I do hate that the site has gone downhill. Even you are not around as much as you used to be. The best thing you had was the tourney database and now that is gone (whoever co-ordinated that is my hero.) Did I recently see some posts on pharmacuticals and porn. They were edited out but they were there.

It's not your fault!!! As the newbies sign on I knew that the downfall would happen.

I do appreciate BW for what it has done for me. When I first signed up, I really had no clue what I was doing (some say I still don't.) You put money in my pocket, I learned strategy (what do you mean I don't need to play every hand?), I learned that not every bonus is worth going after also.

The front page still rocks!!

I remember when online poker was fun, & now it's just my job, & feels like work.

[/ QUOTE ]

I remember when I didn't want to go to bed as I would miss out on playing.

Now I hardly ever play, except for when Stars offers double FPPs. Hell, I can't believe that I hae been on 2 + 2 for two days in a row.

EGADS! Are you insane?

LOL. I tried it and hated it. No goal to shoot for and ring games are so boring.

The first thing I read on 2+2 was the "Pattern Map" thread. I also remember it taking me awhile to realize it was a joke.
