I can think of a number of swedes and norwegians that post here but off the top of my head I don't know of any germans.

I posted this in the Scandinavian Forums? thread

I mean there are more Danish, Swedish, and Norwegian speakers on 2+2 than German.

[/ QUOTE ]

Met, how do you know? Are you sure?

From Wikipedia article on population breakdown of Europe:

German speaking countries (ignoring Switz/Luxem/Licht & minority German populations of other countries):

Germany----83,251,851
Austria-----8,169,929

Total------91,421,780

Scandinavian language countries (the big 3 & ignoring Swedish speakers in Finland and Danish speakers in Greenland etc.):

Norway-------4,525,116
Sweden-------9,090,113
Denmark------5,368,854

Total-------18,984,083

From Wikipedia article on estimates of number of speakers by language:

Norwegian: 4.7 - 5 mil
Danish: 5.3 - 5.6 mil
Swedish: 8.8 - 9 mil

Total: 18.8 - 19.6 mil

German: 95-100 mil

Bottom line: every swinging dick in Scandinavia has to be a poker player to equal just 20% of German speakers being poker players.

Look at what you just posted.

Sweden & Finland are 5.2% combined. Germany is 7.1%.

Are we supposed to believe that Denmark & Norway don't make up over 1.9% of 2+2? Poker is as popular in both of those countries as it is in Sweden and their populations aren't a ton smaller.

Of course, if as you said forums are being driven by book translations then that is another story and none of this matters. But I am > 90% confident than Denmark/Sweden/Norway/Finland make up a bigger part of 2+2 than Germany.

i really dont care if there are 42 language subforums but i think putting them all on the sidebar creates a lot of clutter. perhaps just one link to the german forums?
