[ QUOTE ]
I mean this is a pretty huge record so in waching it as a person who played baseball and likes baseball...I feel like it should affect me somewhat emotionally..but it doesn't. I felt nothing...it wasn't even the same as when The Sox came back to beat the Yankees when I felt like [censored] but was like damn..I can't believe the Sox pulled that [censored] off..thats [censored] insane. [/ QUOTE ] This comparison is seriously flawed because anyone with half a brain realized months if not years ago that Bonds had a 90%+ chance of breaking the record. [ QUOTE ] The evidence that Bonds took roids along with 3/4th the league is pretty overwhelming given he admitted unknowingly doing it. [/ QUOTE ] Please read all of RedBeans post in this thread. Not disagreeing with your conclusion, but you are citing this as fact when it isn't. |

[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] I have a good friend who played with Barry at ASU, and some other semi-friends that I see on an annual golf trip that played with him too. He was so hated by his teammates that at one point they voted unanimously to kick him off the team but Jim Brock was like "LOL, no". And I seriously doubt jealousy was in play relative to the level of their disdain. He was the best player on the team, he was the son of Bobby Bonds, but he was also a huge dick. [/ QUOTE ] So...you know a guy who likes to tell a story about him and his team mates trying to get rid of Barry Bonds? He still tells this story? Pretty brilliant guy if you ask me. [/ QUOTE ] Conveying a relevant story about a popular topic du jour makes somebody stupid? |

[/ QUOTE ] pudge its still a huge huge deal. never stated its fact but I think only a retard would sit there and be like, come on dude..he didn't test positive for roids so its totally likely that he never took them. bonds took roids. can i state it as absolute fact...no Would i bet my life savings on bonds failing a lie detector...hell yes. |

[/ QUOTE ] Wow, why the dickish tone? Totally unnecessary. The guy in question has been a friend of mine for 10+ years. I see him all the time. Baseball was his life for many years. He likes to tell stories and has a lot of interesting ones to share, both about baseball and his work as a firefighter. Among these stories are the aforementioned Bonds one as well as some others about Bonds that I can't remember but that weren't flattering. I also recall the Bonds-related stuff being verified by the other guys I know who played with him. At no point did I imply that he just runs around bitching about Bonds to anyone who will listen, and again your post was dickish and uncalled for. |

CDS, if you got more amped (or depressed) from someone breaking the HR record than from the Sox/Yanks 2004 ALCS, something is probably wrong with you.

Redbean will not answer the direct question as to whether or not Bonds took steroids, because he knows Bonds took steroids.
He simply argues that it hasn't be proven as an "undeniable fact" that he took steroids and uses semantical or red herring arguments to dismiss all the evidence against Bonds. I'm pretty sure I could "prove" Bonds took steroids in a legal setting, depending upon the burden of proof I was required to meet: by the preponderance of evidence --> absolutely beyond a reasonable doubt --> probably beyond all doubt --> probably not Of course Redbean's entitled to believe whatever he wants. I'm just amazed that anyone else believes Redbean. |

[/ QUOTE ] [img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] Kuiper and Krukow. Kuip did a 10000000x better job calling that HR than that assclown on ESPN did (Gary Thorne I think?). |

[/ QUOTE ] not so much a question of i got more or less...i felt nothing. 0.nada. It didn't even register. Just seemed really weird. Maybe I've just become so turned off to MLB short of my team and my rival..the Sox that I no longer care about anything else. |
