Burgos is coming back up to the majors. And I just saw on yahoo that they penciled in Vargas for the start and on NYMets.com they still said TBA. Wondering if anyone has heard about that mysterious Thursday start.

They haven't officially brought Vargas up, but they did hold him out of his start on Sunday in AAA. So it looks like he is going to be the guy for Thursday. By Thursday we should also know if Alou will be Dl'd or not.

Wow. A pessimistic Braves fan? I thought all the pessimism in the NL East was already claimed by Phillies and Mets fans? [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] They are saying this morning that he might not even miss his next start. So yeah, it's true that the Braves have probably been playing over their heads so far, but I'm not ready to discount them just yet even if Smoltz misses a few starts. Lot of season left.

Other news:

- The Post is reporting that the O's are talking to the Mets about trading for Park.

- Mota made his first appearance of the year. 1 inning in AAA, 1 K, no runs. I think he can be added to the roster on the 30th, barring rain outs.
