Funny thing if Chip wins, he'll get lots of attention, then go back to crushing cash games.

[/ QUOTE ]

As I recall, Chip is the guy who said that he only started playing tournaments over the last few years because his kids were asking him why they never saw him on TV.

[/ QUOTE ]

I'm almost positive this was said by Chau Giang.

[/ QUOTE ]

I recall that too. I think they both said it.

EDIT: Oops. I just noticed a bunch of people already responded along the same lines.

I'm glad Antonius is on the ropes to be honest

The prestige of this tournament should go to a player with a long, proven track record of B&M play, not an internet hotshot

[/ QUOTE ]

Yes, why bother even playing the event. Just have professional poker players submit their curriculam vitae's and have a panel of distinguished arbiters decide who deserves to win the tournament.

Hey buddy, relax

I think I'm allowed to have an opinion on who I'd like to see win

I'd like to see someone win who has "paid his dues" so to speak

You may not agree with my reasoning, and that's 100% fine

No worries

Antonius might have a short career thus far, but just because he hasnt "paid his dues" does not take away from the fact he is an OUTSTANDING NL and limit hold em player.

Maybe that does not equate to the optimal credentials in your book, but there are plenty of worse players to give the bracelet to, trust me.

An internet hotshot? In the last year, he has cashes in live tournaments for $1,000,000+, $300,000+, $100,000+ twice, and $60,000+, and that is NOT including his cash in this event.

Could have been much weaker. We have 3 of the 4 most famous/best mixed game players in the world at the table.

Look at the top 20 from the chip count after Day 1. Some really strong names like Cunningham, Cassidy and Ly, but about 5-6 guys I've never even heard of and another 8 or 9 that wouldn't be worth even talking about for one post.
