I'm really working on my pre-flop aggression-taking myself from ~24/10 beggining of this year to~22/13 right now..I'd like to get that up to 22/16 and feel comfortable playing that way.

Its funny how diffrent people are working on diffrent things. I worked my way from 21-15 to 18-13 and now I am only 2% away from my 16/12 goal

21-15 is what most winning players seem to run at. I run alot less aggro preflop than that but thats just me. Why would you try to change from 21-15?

I think one should just play the way they feel comfortable playing, and if anything err to the tight side. When you start to play hands in situations that you're not comfortable is when you make the biggest mistakes. I love my 30/20 stats, but I imagine I'll have to tighten up as I move up in limits.

yea well I guess you work towards what you envision as the most profitable style for yourself.

for me I'd like to work towards a more lag style eventually for metagame reasons as I move up.

I move up very slow but I will move up.I seem to be only moving up l or at most 2 levels a year.

good guy, nice run. 75k is sick at 200nl, but you could make alot more at 400nl or 600nl. Hell, you are rolled for the 1k game, but that would obviously be bad. But you should consider 400nl.

yea I was going to move up to $400's permanently 3 months ago. At the time my $200 earn was around 8ptbb/100 I then had a massive consolidation where my earn fell below 6ptbb/100(now its ~7ptbb/100-which in my opinion is still lame)-this really freaked me out and made me stay in the $200's. Fact was I had stuff to work on and I'm doing it right now. I've studied and datamined the best players. I havent taken a coach on but thought about it plenty.

I started to mix in $400's starting 2 months ago -I'm up like $2.5K on less than 5k hands but I've held back.

I'm ridiculously over-rolled no doubt.

I just hate to have a mediocre earn at a lower level and move up and only make just a bit more but with 75% higher standard deviation.

If I can do 4+ptbb/100 in the $400's thu you are right I should move up even if the swings are bigger no doubt about it. It's all mental really-

It's really lack of confidence to be honest. I only feel confident beating any level when I beat the crap out of it. This is a bad mentality to have if you want to move up quickly.

One thing with me is my goals have always been just to make consistent good money rather than focusing on playing higher.

If I managed my time better and spent more time working on my actual play ie studying and posting more I'd be 1-2 levels higher I know it.

I think I've fallen into the trap of being a moderately succesful poker grinder-been playing for a living 5 years and acheiving moderate income goals ie first $50K a year then $75K now $125K a year hopefully on towards $200K/+ years consistently but in general my goals have been pretty pedestrian at least ie 2+2 standards.

if you beat 200nl for 7pt/bb then I have no doubt if you played the exact same game you could beat it for 5pt/bb easy
