[ QUOTE ]
[ QUOTE ] Schneids, Why didn't you put his last chips in when you both had trip jacks? [/ QUOTE ] I read him as strong on the turn and thought it was likely he had trips also. So I didn't 3-bet on the turn for that reason, plus I didn't want to blow him off a bluff or midpair since I think he had some respect for my reraises. And then when the river came it made it so I could only beat two trip hands... All others had me outkicked or were boats. So I figured it was less than 50% I was gonna win the pot, and didn't wanna give him any unwarranted extra chips. I don't remember the board but I think it was J2 and J3 were the only jack hands I could beat, plus Scott was playing pretty tight vs me so I didn't see it too likely he had either of them... And as you know though the pot is too big for me to just fold to him either. So that's why I played it kinda "passively." Finally, I thought I had pretty good read on these guys some of the time about their hand strengths and I was trying hard to go with them. [/ QUOTE ] I posted it on your Facebook, but congrats again. Really impressive man. See you at Canterbury sometime. |

Ain't no readin' in poker. Just getcho money up the that mother-[censored] pot when you gots the best of it and win you some money. Crack them fools off old-school. None of this Phil Ivey [censored], I'm talkin' Amarillo Slim up in this mother-[censored]. Schneids keepin' it real. Now lets take some of that money and lets smoke us a big fat blunt. |

I don't know if CP's account of how many chips he had left were 100% accurate or not (dud Fuller bust out on the next hand??)
I think a couple bloggers (maybe CP or somebody else...don't know) were sitting right in front of us and they were scribbling on a note-pad to try to keep up with the chip-count. Schneids was thinking pretty long on that hand. And as I recall, I believe that Schneids is correct that the only J's his J7 was ahead of were J2 and J3. I think the board was JJ654 (don't know the order). Didn't get a chance to congratulate Schneids personally on his big win so wanted to do that here. Lots of fun cheering him on. Last I talked to him we were comparing our crappy stacks following day 1. He had $5500 (2.5 big bets) and I had $3000 (1.5 big bets). I was 202nd out of 207 remaining and I believe he was 195 or 192 or something. I believe I said something tongue-in-cheek about how much further ahead he was and what a huge difference those extra chips would be. Ha ha. I wasn't serious dude. congrats schneids. Pleasure meeting you (and all the other 2+2'ers) on the ship and what an awesome and well-deserved win. |

A public congrats schneids, it should be known that EVERYONE on the ship, including the 3rd place finisher next to me in the urinal was extremely complimentary of your play and more importantly your demeanor. Good to meet you and the Minnesota contingent.

The Card Player article and Party press release are retarded. Lines like, "For a moment in the big amphitheatre aboard the ms. Westerdam, it seemed more like a frat party than a poker tournament, but that exuberant tone belied the intensity of the event which saw Schneider, in mirrored sunglasses and backward baseball cap, slowly wear down top pro Kenna James and the first player ever to make two PartyPoker.com Million final tables, Scott Buller," and, "Kenna James is a well-known poker pro from Southern California. As the last established name left in the field, James had to be the favorite to come away with the title. He was consistent throughout the event, seemingly always in a comfortable position. But Mike Schneider, the 22-year old poker pro and University of Minnesota student turned out to be the X-factor that the handicappers weren’t counting on."
In particular, the Card Player description is embarrassing. It's as if they have no clue about the high limit games online. |

Hey man,
I still remeber your first poker game when we had to give you a sheet of paper showing you the rank of hands. Somehow you still tore us up in that game. You deserve all of this buddy, Drew |
