Listen, I realize you don't agree with me. Perhaps I am more optimistic. However, Fergie agrees with me, and even said as much to the press. Historically speaking its a major change, but I think they have enough quality all around. Most Arsenal fans are not expecting a challenge for the title. The general consensus is that Arsenal are still a season or two away.

Lets see either way. I am pumped for the season to start!

Realistically, what else would you expect Sir Alex to say? Do you really think he'd give Arsenal, Wenger, and Arsenal supporters "bulletin board material" by saying that Arsenal is no longer a contender and that Man U is already looking past them? He's a lot smarter than that - of course he's going to blow smoke up our arses and tell us that we'll be BETTER without Henry (to me, that statement alone proves that he's being disingenuous).

As an Arsenal fan, I'm very worried about the upcoming season - we've been in rebuilding mode for the last two seasons and given the light activity during the summer transfer period to date, I see little evidence that we're even heading in the right direction.

In Wenger I trust. We have a lot of quality, don't worry!

I'll trust a lot more if/when Wenger extends his contract and commits to this squad beyond this season.

I think he will. Doesn't he usually wait till 3-4 months before his contract expires to re-sign?

Don't know about 'usually' because I've only been following Arsenal since 2002 and he's only had one extension during that time but in 2004, he signed an extension in October for a contract due to expire the following May.

As I asked before, if her felt Arsenal was a lesser power without Henry, do you REALLY think he'd say so? Do you think he'd give Arsenal something like that to rally behind?

Asked a different way, do you think he truly believes Arsenal is a BETTER team without Henry, as he said?

It'll be a cold day in Hell before I trust Sir Alex to give a honest and public opinion of what he thinks about Arsenal or Wenger to give an honest and public opinion about what he thinks about Man U.

I would say team rankings would go Manu > Chelski >>> Liverpool >> Arsenal >>>> The rest with all 4 teams having a shot at winning the league.
