Another cool thing, there was a Oakland A's game going on in the stadium right next door. For those who dont know, the stadiums are literally 20 yards apart. We were all entering at the same time and EVERYONE was chanting LETS GO WARRIORS. [/ QUOTE ] haha, yeah, the jazz/warriors game was the A's home opener a few weeks back. it was packed. the timberwolves/warriros game was A's homestand vs yankees. it was packed makes it so much fun to go when McAfee collesium has ppl too, only problem is getting home takes forever... |

Hey tuq, nice round at Papago. I used to live in Chandler. Played the course once, don't remember much cause it was 149 degrees. Now I'm a suns fan in Dallas. I've been to a few mavs games and like the mavs but I'm a diehard suns fan. Not sure what to think about the mavs right now, but it doesn't matter. The suns are winning it this year. I said that at the beginning of the season and no reason not to believe that now.

i just got back from the game. I have to say a few things. first, the arena was [censored] INSANE tonight. Only at a soccer game have i ever seen an atmosphere like that. Singing, chanting, yelling just NONSTOP. second, was the game as horrendously officiated as i saw? there were like 10+ phantom calls on the warriors and we STILL crushed dallas. the criteria for what was and wasnt a foul seemed to change with each team. The 2nd and 3rd quarter were two of the worst officiated quarters i have ever seen. Beyond that, Baron and J-Rich are just sick, soooo sick. Monta is our most underrated player imo. The biggest thing i noticed is HOW [censored] SOFT dirk is. Seriously, someone touches his arm and he auto falls over and complains. It was pathetic and i wish they gave technicals for flopping. God that game was rad. Easily my favorite sporting event ive ever been to. If anyone is 50/50 on going, GO. SERIOUSLY GO. Another cool thing, there was a Oakland A's game going on in the stadium right next door. For those who dont know, the stadiums are literally 20 yards apart. We were all entering at the same time and EVERYONE was chanting LETS GO WARRIORS. Another awesome thing, i saw THREE dallas mavericks fans, THREE. Thats it. God that ruled. [/ QUOTE ] Wow, you can be extremely bias. As in every game there were bad calls for both sides i.e. Biedrans. But Dallas had plenty of calls go against them, you seriously can't be that blind can you? The foul called on Devin right before he got the technical was complete BS, Monta drives into him, lowers his shoulder and then uses his non-shooting hand to push Devin back to create space to shoot and Devin moves backward and they called the foul. I thought the technical was weird too, he really just questioned it...GS has spasms all night on almost any call no matter how violent they hack someone. I understand you REALLY want GS to win and really excited but dude, this stuff goes both ways in the playoffs. |

I remember both of those Suns-Rockets series well...right after the odd "visitor's series" vs. the Bulls in the finals...zomg win a home game! They also went down 2-0 to the Lakers as a huge favorite in a best of 5 before coming back.

tdarko,
Usually I think you're the uber bias one, but I agree with you here. Pretty standard officiating if you ask me. The only really bad call was the Biedrins block.. the Dampier travel was a tough call to make because it was in the middle of a rebounding frenzy. I thought the refs did a good job, because they really let BOTH teams play. It was getting wild out there for a bit. seven, your friends shouldn't be making fun of you. It might be close, but there's certainly an argument for it. |

kidcolin,
I thought it has been pretty standard which is what I think sucks about NBA basketball--the home team benefits too much, why can't they just call the game right? Game 1 was probably the closest of the three games so far w/ just bad officiating overall. Game 2 GS got screwed more than Dallas. I don't believe this determined the outcome though b/c I think Dallas outplayed GS. Game 3 Dallas got screwed more than GS. I don't believe this determined the outcome though b/c I think GS outplayed Dallas. And in both games both teams got screwed many times throughout the game...typical NBA playoff game. Also, there was more than what you mention. Most of you may think Dirk is soft but he had guys hanging all over him all night, what about the play where he goes up hard to the rim and Barnes literally shoves him back and you here Barry saying, "how is that not a foul, that is blatant?" then Walton chimes in saying, "its not a foul when the guy is half the size or else Shaq would go to the line every time he went to the rim" then Barry says, "what are you talking about? A foul is a foul no matter the size of the defender and Dirk was clearly fouled hard there." Then Walton goes on some long-winded diatribe about how these players today don't know the meaning of tough or something blah blah blah. Someone should tell Walton he doesn't understand the meaning of a rule book. Another thing, I think it is real funny how one way the commenting is from night to night (though I know game 2 was TNT). But game 2 was all about how Dallas is the championship team and they have won 67 games and they play like they have the heart of a champion and they know how to get it done and it is basically 2 hours of blowing them b/c they are winning. Then last night it is 2 hours of blowing the Warriors b/c they dominated the game, all you hear is about how Dallas hasn't played a meaningful game in months and it shows and how they don't look like they even want to be there or like they even want to win...ZOMG give GS some credit Christ these announcers are retarded! Dallas looks terrible b/c GS shoots 60% at the half and no team is going to get in a groove when this happens, GS is the reason Dallas looked like crap--give credit where credit is due--these games are hard to watch b/c of bad officiating and painful announcing. |

I agree with Walton that less fouls are called when the guy is bigger. There were games in his prime where Shaq was fouled almost every possession, but never got called because he's so much bigger and didn't get affected by it as much. You could never hang on a little guy the way it's happened to him
