I just realized I have played 1,700 SNGs according to SharkScope and I'm only showing a $303 profit (3% ROI).

Any reason why I shouldn't just cash out my Stars balance and quit poker?

dawade,

Because you would make more money by figuring out why your ROI is so low and then fixing whatever it is you find? Just a suggestion, cashing out your roll is perfectly fine too of course.

All,

I haven't really been keeping up with the deposit / cashout situation that great. But I'm going to Vegas in March and assuming I don't somehow go busto on Stars before I leave, I'd like to cash out 5-10k to take with me.

I have 2 questions, 1) is paper check the easiest / most reliable cashout method right now? and 2) How far ahead of time should I request the check if so?

I'm leaving the last Thursday of March so I have like 7 weeks to get the money from Stars to my hands.

From what I've read in the Zoo Stars will Fed-Ex you a paper check which will take a few days from when you request it. Then expect your bank to put a 5-day hold on it until it clears and the funds hit your account. (Some people have said their bank did not put a hold on the check so that might be a policy of each respective bank.)

JBrochu summed it up pretty basically, but i'll just like to add, the hold on the check usually depends on the amount of money you have in your account. If your depositing 10k and have 2k in your account, there's probably going to be a hold on your check, but if you have 100k in your account and depositing 10k -- prolly not. It's also $1000+ for the fedex check, if it's under expect to wait like 2 weeks.
