OK, speaking for myself:

At first I posted because I can relate to Anacardo's predicament, his state of mind, and his place in life. It's not all that different from my experience and places I have been, and I wanted to offer some advice from that because, yes, sometimes I help people simply to help them.

When it became clear that he was just rejecting people's advice, good advice, okay, I got a little more snarky and tried to pop holes in his ego. But maybe even that had its point; maybe even that was my way of showing 'Cardo that, yeah, you might have a one-liner for every occasion, but some of us are just as sharp and can shoot them down, and we've made it in the world. Maybe you should listen to us.

I can't help it if he feels a personal affront to every suggestion that isn't to his liking. But my very best friends are the ones who are not only supportive of me when I need it, but also willing to tell me when I'm [censored] up, honestly. And I value them for it.

And yes, my reaction to him here is probably compounded by my memories of and reactions to his thread in EDF. Because it sounds essentially the same, except "make me happy" has been changed to "make me money"-- and he continues to dismiss most people's advice that would actually work, because it doesn't fit into his worldview. And he really shouldn't.

KotOD, I don't mind sloth, wasted opportunity, and wasted time as long as the person doesn't care. It's just when there's a divergence between what that person is and what they want to be...

This will probably sound awful, but I think the unmotivated lazy people do a good job of stocking the world with cheap labor. Even ants have a purpose in life.

I don't know who you are, but claiming personal knowledge of someone, making some harsh accusations then hiding behind a shield of anonymity is always very, very LOL.

Also, Brandi is [censored] hawt. I'm just a reasonably nice-looking young man.

[/ QUOTE ]

First of all, you know exactly who I am.

Second, what are the harsh accusations? I'm just calling it like I see it. I think if you buckled down and worked you could do quite well for yourself. Not nearly as well as you think of yourself, but quite well in the overall scheme of things.

Third, Brandi's pretty hot, although she's definitely already peaked. The comparison comes from the fact that both of you are blundering through life 80% detached from reality and very publicly blaming others for your problems, spawning long, driveling, waste-of-time threads. Perhaps I should say "were"--Brandi at least seems to have moved on a bit.

My goal is not to just kick you while you're down. It's to tell you the honest-to-goodness truth, at least how I see it, with the hope that it may perhaps stick. And so when you finally get into a slightly better emotional state relying on all the people who'll pat you on the back but never challenge you to confront your problems, and you start thinking a little clearer and realize that maybe you can tweak a few things about yourself, you'll perhaps remember the actual honest words of what the problems are and what you can do to fix them instead of trying to figure it all out from scratch.

Maybe they won't be my words you remember, but there are plenty of people here that have told you the truth; truth that comes across as an insult or harsh only because, quite frankly, the truth is you're in pretty bad shape.

Your revolution is over, Cardo. Condolences. The bums lost. My advice is to do what your parents did; get a job, sir. The bums will always lose. Do you hear me, Cardo?

Anacardo,

It is your life, but you should keep in the back of your mind that you do not have the right to ever physically harm another person. No matter what the world does to you, you should not purchase a fire arm or take revenge against people in a physical way. I am happy to hear that you are going to be living with some people in Atlanta, and not on your own. If you ever feel yourself 'slipping' and feel as though you are close to harming another person, whether it be your boss or an ex-girl friend, you should seek immediate help from one of your friends or a medical professional.

Anacardo,

I understand you own some fencing equipment. Would you be willing to let one of your friends to keep it in a locked closet and allow you to use it whenever you want (assuming you are at a calm temperment) under their supervision?
