Thank god, I thought I was the only one thinking this while reading the thread. The orginial Terminator simply rocks like few movies do these days. T2 has neat special effects and the new terminator is pretty wild but to quote from the other poster, the movie has "no soul." What's with Arnold becoming the understanding, sympathetic terminator? Come on.

I can't think of any sequels far better than the orginal. The Godfather II was equal to or better than the orginial IMO.

I'll chime in here - T2 was bigger in terms of special effects, but The Terminator was a much better movie. No cheese, no cute crying terminators, no cop-outs. I loved T2 when I first saw it, but I'll watch the original any time it is on TV.


Empire Strikes Back was better than Star Wars.

Jules, if you really believe Aliens is better than Alien you are a giant steaming pile of poo. There are two potential lines of reasoning regarding these two movies that I would be willing to accept.

1 - the two movies are too dis-similar to be compared to each other; each one is great at what it is.

2 - Alien is far superior.
