If they wanted to put a toxic waste dump next to my house, I'd sure as hell feel insecure!

"Maybe i'm just an old timer..."
I'd like to know when that happens to me, or if it did already. What would you say the qualifications are? "...but have you guys noticed a considerable lack of class in the the poker world (online/bm)?" I can speak to the B&M portion of your question and answer no, I haven't. Just the opposite. I have played with many new-breed 21-26 year-old players who have way more class than I did at their age. |

In my experience the "old timers' are much more likely to be without class than the young whippersnappers.

I agree, but the most extreme cases tend to be the youngest players. Like someone said, I guess they just haven't had it impressed on them yet.

[ QUOTE ]
Class is subjective, if everyone is an a-hole, it means you are a prude. Whiner. [/ QUOTE ] Orthography is classy. |

[ QUOTE ]
Popularity of poker among younger people-->greater volume of immature people in player pool-->more immaturity at the table. Not rocket science here, guys. [/ QUOTE ] So you're point is if more rocket scientists played poker it would be classier; if less profitable? |

[ QUOTE ] I agree, the conservatives are insecure, thats why they are conservative. Things are the way you like, so you want to conserve them, and therefore resist change. You make it sound like there is some objective standard of social conduct. I wear a hat when I play, even indoors. How boorish. [/ QUOTE ] So if I object to a toxic waste dump being proposed next to my house I'm being insecure? There's no other explanation of why I may not want that change? [/ QUOTE ] I don't think you're being insecure on the toxic waste dump thing...at least I can't think of any people that might want one around. Of course if you're just objecting to a hypothetical proposal, then I'd call that paranoid. |

glidwulf - You're incorrect. In the old days poker was much less legitimate and attracted a lot of scumbags whoa re still hanging around. It still attracts degenerate scumbags today but it also attracts many more legitimate and polite players.

Nowadays i can't even go to a room w/o people trash talking each other and berating the other person. [/ QUOTE ] Yes, I notice that there is more profanity and less hygiene but there is also less smoking and more women. |

I concur. The rudest people I have met at the poker table were old bastards.
