[ QUOTE ] It's really embarassing how few posters realized the sarcastic nature of this post [/ QUOTE ] How many missed it, at least eight? Talk about poor reads. [/ QUOTE ] Make that 9. Easy to do with the written word in these types of forums, especially when the OP comes out of the blue. One might ask the poster's original motivation for this whole thing. At least we have some resident geniuses to keep the rest of us in line. Look at his post again and tell me you honestly don't think that anyone who hasn't seen this poster before couldn't be fooled. Maybe it was better parody than it should have been |

Yes, he must be one crappy player to make it to the final table of the TOC. And yeah, you don't need skill to win 9 bracelets. Just ask Doyle and Johnny, who've both won 10. When it comes to NLHE tournaments, the only player I would pick to stake over Hellmuth, is Ivey. [/ QUOTE ] Wasn't the TOC only one table? |

9 bracelets and do you think it's possible that TV portarys him a certain way. Also one of the top cashers at WSOP too and you tend to forget 3rd at the tourney of champions recently. Plus he hjas made some final tables lately on WPT and WSOp.

the best part about a mock thread, is the people who continue to make serious responses to the first post after there have been several posts indicating that the thread is a joke. that makes the whole thing worth while. i frequent a music message board, where a poster put up a mock post about how a friend of his had banged the niece of "jethro tull" and she had even shown him her drivers license (her name was Mary Tull). there were responses days after the poster said it was a joke berating him for being a moron and not knowing that there was no one named jethro tull in the band. classic.

[ QUOTE ]
As an everyday player, with no real experience playing high-stakes poker or any real professional experience or real solid knowledge of the game, [/ QUOTE ] why are you so quick to jump at his playing style, when i first started i assumed all loose aggresive players were equal to easy money - not the case, many ways to skin a cat (bad analogy but same thing). also why dont you jump down harrington's back? or the thousand other pro's who have a tight torny image? you have been fooled by TV magic, yes he plays tight, but its a players extremely good post-flop decisions that make them continually travel far in big mtts but dont get me wrong i cant stand it when phil starts to bitch and moan, although his table eticate is a huge jopke he is a good poker player |
