My $0.02 worth as a newbie -

Playing for entertainment CAN lead to something more, but without the up-front pressure of the certain initial losses. If you view poker as your new "hobby", then how much did you invest in your last hobby - honestly!?! Its all about initial expectations.

Also, you better develop an iron-clad discipline that you use 100% of the time you play. Every session without it is highly likely to be -EV.

Thanks a lot. This is certainly one of the most valuable advice that I got for my poker play. I will stick to it. Great work!

Great job QTip.

I read 2+2 for a few hours a day, but never really post on the site. But I thought this was worth a post.

I feel the same way about multi-tabling.
When I first started playing online, I would multi-table 4-6 tables at one time. I realized how awful I was when I played so many different tables. I dont have PT (which I am probably going to get soon enough) so I feel that 2-3 tables is my ideal number of tables. I can pay attention the players at the games and review my own play better.

Greg has deleted this post post because it is pointless, retarded and insulting.

Instead, it's being replaced with a picture of Flava Flav:

WOW. If this is the kind of moderating that goes on in this forum, then Entity and Evan have some real learning to do. Greg, have you considered starting and moderating a moderators forum? This is moderating genius.

Find a single hand that you had trouble with, either at the time or thinking about it in retrospect.

Post that one hand, with comments as to your thinking as you played it.

Wait for others to add their own comments.

Think about what the others have advocated and why.

Two days later, do the same again.

really liked the "stop multitabling" point. I know that would help me.

I wasn't bold enough to do this the first time around, but this is good enough to go in the FAQ.
