Burberry suits are made by Hickey Freeman.

An easy verification is that the left sleeve label and the interior pocket label will be identical between HF and Burberry. There are only a handful of suitmakers in the world.

So is this a good or bad thing?

I don't see what all the hate is for black suits.

[/ QUOTE ]

Not hate, but practicality. OP said he is only going to have one suit- black isn't nearly versatile enough for that prupose.

I bought a black theory suit when I was in vegas. I will be wearing it to weddings, services, really nice occasions taking place in the PM.

Which is exactly what black suits are for. Weddings, black tie, etc. Not everyday use. Not interviews.

QFT.

Doesn't apply to women, though. For men, dark charcoal grey is appropriate everywhere and really sexy.

When I bought my first suit I was planning on getting something pinstriped or colored, but got some advice from a salesperson at a really nice store that you should ALWAYS buy a charcoal suit first as that is appropriate for all events and a staple in your wardrobe.

I have been buying my suits from these guys for a while now. You need to buy one of the package deals, and while it seems like a lot of money compared to $200, if you can afford this it is the deal of a century. You are buying top of the line fabrics custom made for incredible prices.

This is probably not for you if you're only looking to buy one suit for $200-$350, but keep them in mind for the future possibly.

I've bought suits from them and am very happy, but not exactly 'deal of the century.' Still worth it however.

2 grand and change gets you three beautiful quality custom made suits and six custom made shirts. If you bought custom made suits of the same quality from a nice store like Bergdorf Goodman, you'd be looking at 3k a pop. 6 Brooks Brothers shirts (hardly the greatest shirts in the world) cost $400.

It's a very good deal if you've bought nice suits before.

Your two starter suits are charcoal and navy. Branch out from there. I recommend Oxxford as a great off-the-rack suit at the pricepoint, and it can frequently be found at Filene's at a low price.
