Do the books and Ewok movies add into the star wars story? [/ QUOTE ] I remember reading a few of the books in high school, and really getting a kick out of them. Even then, I didn't think they were stellar literature or anything, but they were very entertaining. I seem to remember the "Timothy Zahn" (?) books being especially good. |

[/ QUOTE ] The Timothy Zahn trilogy was awesome, and would have made a great ep. 7-9 imo, as long as someone who wasn't Lucas helmed it. Admiral Thrawn is a sick villain. |

I think it refers to the Jedi as a whole. After being killed off by the Sith and forgotten about for decades, they have finally returned to destroy the Sith and restore peace and happiness and all that crap to the galaxy. Can't believe I just wasted 2 minutes writing this. [/ QUOTE ] This was always my impression. It's an ongoing battle between the Empire and the Jedi, a group. |

QUestion for the Ubber nerds. Do the books and Ewok movies add into the star wars story. Like this GD website talks about Palpatine coming back in a clone etc etc which is Obv. After return of the Jedi. But us "regualr" Star Wars watchers really only know what's happened in the first 6 movies. [/ QUOTE ]The uber-nerds flame each other endlessly over whether the "Expanded Universe" should be considered part of the Star Wars "Canon" or not. Check out the Jedi Council forums. |

Wookieepedia...LOL
OK, here are a couple of questions I've never found the answer to. When Luke is in the Cave of the Dark Side, R2D2 seems to say something to Yoda who kind of laughs in reply, is there an R2D2 "language", what did he say? There is debate on whether R2D2 was Force-sensitive, and if he is the true hero. Some argue the story is largely from his perspective. Agree? Why do all the Sith have "Darth" names, but Jedi get different quasi-Japanese names? Which, if any, books are "canon" that can talk about how Chewy went into life debt with Han, and why Yoda had such a great relationship with the Wookiees, etc.? Why is Darth Vader such a pussy and lets the admiral and commander scoff at his "religion" and power in "A New Hope"? **CLIFF NOTES: I'm retarded and have been thinking about Star Wars way too much lately*** -ZEN |

* The word Jedi is both plural and singular. The title can refer to Luke; Leia; Anakin; or any combination of the three.
* Here's my real question: Why is Vader in Episode 4 so unrespected? Check out how the Admirals and Captains react to him in Episode 5. They are scared of him because he is in charge. But in Episode 4, the dude that Vader force choked was basically telling him off, calling The Force magic or something after Vader says that the power of the Death Star is nothing compared to The Force. The obvious answer is that Lucas didn't come up with the idea for the trilogy until after Episode 4 was a hit. But Wookiepedia says that Lucas's original idea was Episodes 4-6, and when he realized it would be too long for one movie, he expanded Episode 4. So what gives? |

[/ QUOTE ] he does? what are you talking about? did you watch these movies? he chokes the [censored] out of the guy and says "i find your lack of faith disturbing" [/ QUOTE ] In Episode 5, no one would have even attempted to talk back to Vader. In Episode 4, the dude Vader choked was completely insulting Vader. If Vader was really the Emperor's right hand man (as shown in Episodes 3, 5, and 6), he would never have done that. Also, Tarkin (the commander of the Death Star) basically gave him an order when he told Vader to stop force choking the dude. Nobody would have talked to Vader like that in episodes 5 and 6. And Leia referred to Tarkin as "holding Vader's leash", another reference to Tarkin being above Vader. |
