Doesn't anybody hear what I'm saying? Is there anybody in here over 21 yrs of age who can impart some maturity on this situation?

I am WAY over 21 and don't think any punishment for cheating in poker short of a Pete Rose lifetime ban is adequate. Its not OK to cheat. If cheating isn't stopped by all means, we might as well go back to playing for M&Ms at the dining table (where I learned).

I disagree with you, but I understand what you are saying.

People are acting like real morons in this, and the original thread. It is scary how much people are acting like an angry mob on a witch hunt.

edit: I'm not over 21

Commodus leaving OOT to post in the main ZJ thread would be absolutely perfect.

[/ QUOTE ]

what would be more awesome is if we could convince reps from party and stars to proceed with whatever decision commodus makes regarding zeejustin.

I'm in my late 30's, and I think you are completely wrong. You mention ZeeJustin's "hard work" and talk about giving him a second chance. He cheated. He knew he was cheating. When discovered, he lied about his cheating. He cheated many times. He played 6 accounts in the same tournament. He sat with 2 accounts at the same table. That isn't "hard work".

Nobody is sending him to jail. Nobody is causing him physical harm. They are only limiting his ability to play cards at Stars and Party in the future and seizing the funds he kept in accounts that he used to cheat. It's really not that harsh.

You cannot read much into his "Statement" at this point. You have to understand what he is going through and how he feels. His reaction waking up to this has to be that he is in defensive mode. If he publicly apologized and admitted his wrongdoing would it help at all?

Im with Indy on this. I deplore the fact he cheated, and feel that he does deserve to have his accts frozen etc, but the overall ill will everyone here is puting towards him is ridiculous. The hatred, constant insulting and the mob mentality that he should be damn near killed is absurd.

We are forgetting that we are here to learn about poker and improve our game first and formost, and while he may have cheated, behavior such as the one the forum has shown is costing us a poster who may be one of the greats and teach us more than we can know. El D said it best "Its a shame what we robbed the world of if you had stayed if in college" or something to that effect just a few weeks ago. A lot of this insulting and animosity is jealousy.

Yeah i think the outrage on here is a bit overdone but nontheless the guy deserves serious punishment.
1. we don't know the extent of his cheating
2. everybody knows entering 5 people in the same tourney is wrong.

too be honest im a bit glad he did not lose everything cause he'll get a chance to prove himself on the tourney circuit when he's 21.

Party Poker and Dikshit in my humble opinion don't get enough blame. Their software has always been garbage and to allow someone to enter 5 people from the same IP to play in an event at the same time is just ridiculous.

Indiana, I basically agree with most of what you are saying....

I personally think most everyone here at least needs to be more understanding and not so hypocritical. It is quite obvious that many of us who do play use rakeback or poker prophecy or other tools to help us make money. It is also very obvious to everyone that playing online poker in the US is completely illegal. And I am also very sure that at least half of us here don't report our income....

The punishments were too harsh, and if it happens to any of you for whatever reason, (rakeback, poker prophecy, multi-account) no one here would ever feel like they deserve everything in all of their accounts to be confiscated.

Now if this is where it ends, I can deal with that. Party does need to put some examples out there. But when party starts stealing millions (it probably already has) from 'cheaters' and many people here start getting their accounts locked up, when will some of you people stop being hyprocrital assholes and start trying to help fix the problem?

Exactly. I'll even admit that seeing his name at the top of that big stars sunday tourney made me jealous because I've played it well and been drawn out on week after week when I was already in the money or close to it. I'll even admit that I'm jealous that that fish The Grinder keeps making final tables when I know that he's no smarter than me. Even with all of that, I want to beat Zee in cards using my own abilities and if I cannot then so be it. Man, I don't even like the guy and I know he cheated but still, the punishment of stripping him of 100K is too much. We simply cannot give online poker rooms the ability to send out an email and tell a guy that he's out 100 grand.

The kid didn't have $100,000 to his name a year ago. There is no way that taking it from him now will "ruin him" in any way.
