Dont think all you legal whiz tough guys get it. Both Ozzy and barney fief were likely very nervous. Also, very good chance car was getting searched no matter what.

I'm pretty sure the only thing my parents ever taught me was to not let a cop search your car for no reason, whether or not you have something to hide. The cop runs no risk by asking the question and they will get lucky once in a while. But please please do not assume that just because they ask they will take the needed steps to search your car even if you turn them down.

I sure wish my parents had taught me this.

He's actually one of the nicest kids in online poker.

If you really think...

a) a fake id
b) weed
c) driving fast in the middle of the night when it's deserted in the middle of nowhere

... is somehow uncommon among 19 y/o poker players, then you are clearly disconnected from this world.

obviously i don't think he is a bad guy. dealing with the cops is something that you need to learn though. especially if you are going to be driving around a nice sportscar at a young age and carrying weed with you.

cops act really tough, but they are pretty limited in their power to search you. the biggest thing to understand is that refusing a search is not an admission of guilt.

some other really good advice for dealing with the cops if they show up at your house or apartment is to always step outside and close the door behind you. same thing if they ask you to step out of the car. get out lock the doors, then shut them.

just remain calm, never admit to doing anything wrong. be polite, but make it clear that you are not consenting to a search and you would like to leave if they aren't detaining you.

how many dui stories start off with the guy telling the cop he had a few drinks earlier. how many arrests for marijuana possession start off with the person consenting to a search.
