2+2 should really work on making the books available earlier (i.e. as fast in the us) in europe...seriously i dont want to pay as much for shipping as for the book

Thats why I wait until amazon.de has this book available so I pay no shipping costs at all. But it's still annoying, and in my opinion 2+2 should do more to satisfy their european customers.

I had preordered thru Amazon (USA), and they sent me an e-mail saying something like, the book would be shipped Aug 8th thru the 16th, so I cancelled. I called Barnes and Noble and they said they would have it Friday, so I will pick it up there. Fug Amazon.

My take...2+2 gets them in, they ship them out. If the European suppliers only want to pay for the cheapest (slow boat) shipping method thats what they get. Balance that with the low price competition of the on-line retailers and that is all they can afford. The marketplace dictates this is what they have to do to keep prices low.

Marketing 101 (remembered this from college but copied from web)
For new products, there is a theory that you will have different groups of people. Each class has different risk tolerances.

Innovators First 5% - 10% that adopt the product (willing to pay a bit more but get the early edge)
Early Adopters Next 10% - 15%
Early Majority Next 30% (willing to wait the extra month ans save$$)
Late Majority Next 30%
Laggards Remaining 20%

I'm more annoyed that amazon lied than anything else, if they had been upfront with thier true expected delivery dates rather than quoting the release date I'd have never placed an order in the first place and would have investigated delivery direct from the US before the release date!

Now Cancelled amazon and ordered with professional poker

Mat

Yeah screw Amazon, those unorganized lying [censored]! I ordered from professionalpoker.com after recieving the e-mail from Amazon.co.uk at the top of this thread, September delivery estimate is a joke.

My books arrived yesterday which was 3-4 business days after I placed the order so not bad at all. Bear in mind also that my book wasn't shipped from profpoker until a day or two after ordering, probably due to pre-orders being taken care of first. Now that all pre-orders are out of the way I expect it would be 3 business days at most to recieve the book in Europe from the time of ordering so long as you are prepared to pay the highest postage.

I certainly was prepared to pay high as I was so desperate to get my hands on it!

So for speed of delivery, professionalpoker.com is probably the best choice.

if the books were shipped to Baker and Taylor/Ingrams on Weds 25th then we should be getting them into Highstakes in London mid to end of next week as books are air-shipped TO us. All orders will be shipped same day we get the books in and we will also post internationally the same day
