I usually just fold these hands. There's just not much reason you need to get involved in a marginal hand at this stage of the tournament. People say pushing is unexploitable, well, so is folding. It's too much to shove with too little hand and A2o plays as well as a drunken jugband postflop, so the smaller raise doesn't so it for me. People call me all sorts of mean names for folding though. I would put 1200 in, and expect alot higher EV than if I folded or pushed.

[ QUOTE ] LOL @ limping. oh, and LOL@ min betting. Push or fold... you have too small a stack to get cute. Oh, and what Chipchucker5 said! [/ QUOTE ] lol @ you. [/ QUOTE ] This is a pretty standard fold. We push if we have been passive, and if the opp. are tight, otherwise we should fold this one, as the risk outweighs the gain according to standard ICM. |

It's not as standard as you think it is. An ace is a favourite over 2 random hands and we have position. Therefore, if we play perfectly we should be able to make money long run.

But for us to play perfect, we need a perfect read. And that is just not obtainable.
We need to give away some "vacuum"-edge (ok, I made that word up) in order to account for misreads, suboptimal play and general poor judgment from our opponents. |

I'd like to think in most cases my opponents will make poorer judgments than I will.

Yep, but you still have to know what kind of errors they make, in order for you to play so perfect, that you outweigh the small edge you give your opponents by playing this hand.

heh I guess we'll have to agree to disagree that I'm "giving them an edge" by playing an ace on the button 3 handed.

According to ICM, you are... Anyway it is still a clear fold/push situation IMO.
