If she called over the floor, the guy who misdeclared has his hand ruled dead and she wins anyway.
Its in Roberts Rules somewhere, and even if you dont get the correct ruling, you make enough of an issue of it that the table rightly hates the angler. |

ST,
I'm pretty sure Robert's does have a clause about intentionally misrepresenting your hand resulting in forfeiting your right to the pot, but damned if I can find it now. |

[/ QUOTE ] think the rule is overdeclare your hand causing someone to muck their hand, your hand is dead. When everyone holds their cards, best hand wins. |

[ QUOTE ] If she called over the floor, the guy who misdeclared has his hand ruled dead and she wins anyway. Its in Roberts Rules somewhere, and even if you dont get the correct ruling, you make enough of an issue of it that the table rightly hates the angler. [/ QUOTE ] If he's showing a pair of Kings and she has say a pair of Queens, and he declares Kings up and then she makes him show and calls the floor, does she get pot? [/ QUOTE ] The rule is intended to stop people angling you by intentionally misrepresenting hands, thus making you muck the winner when they go "oh, my error, instead of the straight, i merely have bottom pair!". Actually, that happened in our game last night, but it was 5am so im guessing the young kid made an actual error and luckily the other hand was easily retrieved to win the pot. So, in your case you present a reverse angle angle shoot. Its interesting, and effectively yes, it could indeed go down as you suggest. Of course, this would all depend on whether the floor thinks either player is angling, and whether he even knows this clause and it is in effect in that casino - but taken as black and white the queens win because the kings misrepresented a bigger hand. Btw, if the hand was stud and the kings were up, you would struggle to get a ruling that you should win by him misrepresenting, because you can see you are beaten so the one pair of kings is enough that him saying kings up means nothing - youd need to be 100% sure that your hand cant be reconstructed and that is really rare. Essentually, protect yourself in live poker. Cards speak, so let them talk and only muck at showdown if your hand definately cant win. Also - every single rule in poker is applied by the floor and it means there is massive amounts of leeway in what is allowed. Roberts Rules is just the first (and as far as im aware only) set of poker rules layed down in black and white and covering most eventualities. |

[ QUOTE ] For the life of me, I will NEVER understand why people actually muck their hands when someone just calls out a hand and hasn't shown yet. I have never, and unless I'm out of my mind at the time, WILL never do this. [/ QUOTE ] Yes but Daliman you are a nice smart, thinking man versus a durrrrrrrrrrrrrr [/ QUOTE ] Don't let Durrr hear that. |

Where the f*ck is she getting all this time for poker tournies? Doesn't she have an acting career to be working on and A-list parties to go to? Seems that if she's got so much other stuff going for her that she shouldn't be getting so caught up emotionally in poker. Thought she was playing for fun unless I missed something about her trying to go pro :/ [/ QUOTE ] What acting career? And you know in LA there's tons of girls that look better than her and with bustier assets and less wrinkled face right? Also, she might be a degen |
