I don't think you should include Mario Williams on this list. Other then having some injury problems, he had a pretty strong first year. DE isn't an easy position to make an instant impact at in the NFL, no matter how athletically skilled you are.

He isn't ever going to put up sack numbers like a Freeney, but hes going to get a good amount while not creating a huge gaping hole on one side of the line vs. the run.

I'd rather have that Bush guy.

That whole argument is super old and isn't worth revisiting for a few more years. I wasn't arguing that he should have been #1, just that he will probably still be very good.

BTW, why does everyone always misspell Redick's name? Is there a famous "Reddick" out there I'm not aware of? or what?

Thay3R,

I know that your post was made in jest, and yes it was funny. But just to defend myself:

Note: I fully realize that these numbers aren't verified, but at the very least they show that all 3 players are similar:

JJ Reddick has a 33in vertical leap: LINK(6th paragraph)

Rip Hamilton has a 29in vertical leap: LINK(1:34 mark of interview)

Ray Allen has a 32in veritcal leap: LINK(5th post)

Redick is an A+ shooter and he's only been in the league 1 year.

He won't ever be an all-star, but he could be a quality contributer and a 12ppg scorer in the right situation.

Trajan Langdon was an A+ shooter, too. He just had better teammates than JJ. They'll have similar careers.

WTF does their vertical leap have to do with their ability to play basketball?

Did you miss Thay3r's post? He showed Allen and Rip dunking and then Redick making a wide open layup. Thay3r can correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure his point was that Redick wasn't as athletic or couldn't jump as high as the other two.

If Redick was as athletic as Ray Allen and Rip are, he would be a very valuable player.

I compared him to Ray Allen or Rip Hamilton.

Maybe it's because I'm a UConn fan, but this easily the best post I've seen in months.

I was absolutely convinced that Leinart would be a bust in the NFL. He never seemed to be very accurate to me at USC and most of his yards seemed to come from three yard passes to Bush where he ran for another 75 afterwards. I was honestly stunned to see him have such a successful rookie season in Arizona.
