[ QUOTE ]
1) Well, there's a difference b/w calling a raise when you already have $3 out there and calling $6 cold. It's a good way to find out the relative tightness of the table.. and whose PF range is widest. [/ QUOTE ] Again, you can find that out by watching who coldcalls when others raise instead of having to do it yourself. Why pay extra for info you'll likely get within an orbit anyways? [ QUOTE ] 2) I usually back it up by doing it a second time as soon as I am dealt another hand like 64s, K9s etc.. You're right that once is not enough. But twice in 5 or 6 orbits probably is. [/ QUOTE ] I don't see any reason to do an image play to gain action unless you're not getting much action. Period. Who knows, you may sit down and get action right off the bat. In that case, you've now just blown a few BBs trying to portray an image that you didn't need to. Doing image plays early in a session, especially in low limit, is greatly overrated. If you can't get action on a LL table, you're likely way overtight. I'm one of the tightest guys in my room and I get plenty of action when I play LL. In fact, I'd say doing it at pretty much any limit early in a session is overrated. It just doesn't have the impact that many people want to think it does. b |
