am i the only thinking that jamie gold is actually a very good player? [/ QUOTE ] well, a simple look at the responses in this thread (and anything else written about him in the community of very good poker players) makes it obvious that he could make SICK money if he played off his image well. so if he's smart, thats exactly what he's doing. but I havent played against him, so I dont really know. |

[ QUOTE ] [ QUOTE ] am i the only thinking that jamie gold is actually a very good player? [/ QUOTE ] i don't know if "very good" is correct, but he looks a lot harder to play agaisnt than dudes like hachem. [/ QUOTE ] a.k.a. so bad its stupefying. [/ QUOTE ] Hachem gets raped in the cash games in Australia when he tries to play them. He bluffs alot!! Gets called alot and loses alot |

So I guess most people would have liked to just call the turn...but, when i thought about what hands he would check/call the flop with out of position, and then lead the turn for pot - i felt very strongly that he was on one of the 2 flush draws or the straight draws...also very possible he had a pair plus a flush draw...i did think there was a small chance that i was already behind to two pair...but overall i really felt strongly that i was ahead, and went ahead with the raise...and in my mind when i raised, i was committing to calling any river bet...his little frantic speech actually made me feel even better about my read...the blind all in bet on the river is what got me thinking...without that i was instacalling...so the question of the thread was meant to be more what range of hands he is making the blind all in with (not so much if the river is a call - in a vacuum its obvious that its a call as played)
anyways, i called and he flipped over the 3 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]...(looks like thinly veiled bad beat story but i thought the texture of board and everything that happened during the hand made it a good one to talk about) i hear the point of "You only have one pair/lots of scare cards coming/calling down safer"...but i just didnt think i was behind on the turn...maybe the raise is too thin, but it is what it is... anyways the cash games have been crazy crazy good... |

Geeeez
He goes in all-in BLIND, before the river, and gets rewarded with the 2d for two pair? Obviously he had the F/D as well but still...... He REALLY is "scary"! ~stephen |
