[ QUOTE ]
1. In the WC semis against PHX in 1993, the Suns were up 8 or so with a couple of seconds left. Kevin Johnson walked the ball over to the ref and Elliott ran over to the ref and demand that he call TRAVELING! Whiny bitch. [/ QUOTE ] kj is actually a solid choice for this. |

Given how bad Det was on D, I think he's probably rated correctly, if not always for the right reasons.
This thread smacks of "favorite non top 50 player from 10 years ago" more than anything else. |

Dids is there any thread you don't walk into and say something like "this thread smacks of" or "grunch at this thread"?
There have been many great players mentioned, like Chambers, Blackman, Sikma, etc. But yeah, Mullin and Vlade got mentioned, so "grunch grunch grunch". |

not sure if Reggie Lewis qualifies here or not. he made 1 All Star game.
trivia about Reggie: He is only player in the 59-year history of the Celtics to have registered 100 rebounds, 100 assists, 100 steals and 100 blocked shots in a single season (1991/92 with 394 rebounds, 185 assists, 125 steals and 105 blocks). Lewis was one of four players from the 1981-82 team of Dunbar High School in Baltimore to play in the NBA |

lapoker,
Last night out of nowhere I remembered what an awesome career KJ had and how similar his numbers were to Nash. Witness: 88-89: 20.4 PPG, 12.2 APG, 4.2 RPG, .505 FG%, 55 wins 89-90: 22.5 PPG, 11.4 APG, 3.6 RPG, .499 FG%, 54 wins 90-91: 22.2 PPG, 10.1 APG, 3.5 RPG, .516 FG%, 55 wins 91-92: 19.7 PPG, 10.7 APG, 3.7 RPG, .479 FG%, 53 wins 93-94: 20.0 PPG, 9.5 APG, 2.5 RPG, .487 FG%, 56 wins 95-96: 18.7 PPG, 9.2 APG, 3.9 RPG, .507 FG%, 41 wins 96-97: 20.1 PPG, 9.3 APG, 3.6 RPG, .496 FG%, 40 wins Shoots 50+%, averaged 49% FG and 9.1 APG. Those rebound numbers are impressive for a little guard too. Definitely underrated (actually his numbers, 3FG% aside look a like like Nash, heh), but I think the giant persona of Barkley arriving on the scene in the middle of his career had a lot to do with marginalizing his performance. SWEAR TO GOD I'm not trying to open up a Nash debate here, just using that as a measuring stick to appreciate KJ's career. |

[ QUOTE ] I'll start - Alvin Robertson. Guy was a stud, and I doubt most people even know who he is now. He won a gold medal, 4 All-Star appearanced, Defensive PoY, 6 time all-NBA defense, and still has the career steals per game record in NBA history. [/ QUOTE ] He also is one of the few players to get a quadruple double (steals in his case). I think Hakeem did it also, but with blocks. [/ QUOTE ] 1 of 4 to do it and the only to do it with steals. |
