hence the hobby part I could make 250k a year easily if I went back to school to be a stock broker plus whatever I get from my dads businesses as a partner. Really poker isn't even money for me now it's a hobby and what I win I can mess around with and have because I have many things to fall back on.

BEING A STOCK BROKER MEANS BUSTING YOUR ASS FOR $250k/year!!!

[/ QUOTE ]

I am a stock broker and bust my ass to make $250k/yr. I bust my ass playing and learning poker too and certainly don't make $250k/yr at it (yet). I said $5million, but really, no amount of money could keep me away from this game.

i had my 2nd biggest score ever 2 weeks ago and my opinion of poker is no where near you guys' feelings on it. I don't see how you do it for "fun" or enjoy it. 90% of the enjoyment I get from poker is because of the money for the same reason nobody plays play money. The 10% of enjoyment i get from playing could easily be filled by kicking back and making 250k/year through interest and playing golf, racing cars or some other hobbies. (yes I understand the level of compitition with real money and I also realize that live touraments are enjoyable.)

you guys are crazy

I feel like it wouldn't take much to get me to stop playing online. Recently I just don't enjoy it at all and I'm pretty sure I'm often playing pretty badly because of it. Live poker on the other hand is a lot of fun so it'd take a hell of a lot more for me to quit that.

So you're saying it would take about $1.3 million?

The only problem I see with getting 5m is that since we are all pretty much degenerate gamblers, wouldn't we wind up blowing it all in the pit or something if we weren't allowed to play poker with it?
