23k hands is hardly anything. I've had two 50k break even stretchs and know players who have had longer.

Mkay, good to hear that it happens to others as well

Right now I'm starting to play bad, started out at Full Tilt yesterday, and I made some not so smart plays (calling too much etc). I'm gonna move down one level and rebuild confidence.

I have noticed often games can be tighter at the smaller levels. So do watch out...

Thanks for the warning! I played a bit yesterday, I felt more confident overall, and losing a stack only feels half as much as at 100NL, so that's a plus.

I've been going through like several months of breakeven due to tilt and I am really pissed about it. Hang tough man.

Possibly the most honest post I've ever seen.

Thanks man.

If anyone's interested my bad luck continues. And seriously, it is bad luck. Ok, I know I'm not playing perfect, and that I make some faulty plays, but I'm even more unlucky.

As the poker boom subsides a bit and the US ban on internet poker takes effect, many many players who were either running better than long term expectation or who were marginal winners against softer opposition are now losers. It's been pointed out before that players who start out running good are more likely to go pro -- even if they are ultimately only marginal winners or losers. It may well be that you are not a winning player, or only marginally a winner, either because games have changed or because you were running good before.

My question to this post is can you be running good for 2 years as a pro??? I am at the point where I've been running like absolute [censored] for about a month and a half and I am at a loss of what to do now. I feel myself even questioning standard plays that I've been doing for almost 2 years now. I'm at the point where I have lost so much recently I'm beginning to think well I don't know if I'm even a winning or losing player anymore. (I've been a very big winner the whole time since becoming pro) I'm taking this week and part of next week off to try to recoop, but I'm freaking out thinking I might have to get a real job. You know I've even tried moving down in limits where there are SO many more fish and still continue to lose. Its crazy because I know that I am so much better than those players and work very hard at the job compared but still losing??????? I just don't get it....this job really blows sometimes. I need to figure out how to "be good at running bad" because its killin me. Sorry if this is kind of a rant post. Thanks for listening!

Oh my good God, I feel you. I'm going crazy as well. Feels like I'm losing every single hand. It wouldn't matter if I played 10 times better than Doyle, I still would get outdrawn every single damn time. I'm seriously starting to wonder if there really isn't a thing such as luck, and I mean "real" luck/unluck. Because I'm really freakin unlucky these days. Gotta love when those 70/20 donks make it on the river every time, especially when you've made good plays throughout the rest of the hand.

Ok, no big pot, micro stakes, not the end of the world, I'm not Matt Damon, BUT I'm getting outdrawn again.
